Prediction: Media will turn against Obama by years end. We saw a conscience cleansing article yesterday, and there will be more to follow as the dishonest journalists try to wash the Obama propaganda off their hands, and look ethical again.
Newsflash: It ain’t going to work!

W.H. Press Corps sworn to secrecy? Say it is so! Why, that could even be called a conspiracy for the fawning media to try and fool the public into thinking they are not up the ass of the first white/black president. What else have they worked in unison to suppress? It boggles the mind!

White House Press Corps Happy to Attend Barack Obama's Off-the-Record BBQ
Gawker.com, by John Cook

Reporters from roughly 30 television networks, newspapers, magazines, and web sites celebrated the Fourth of July with Barack Obama at the White House last weekend. Why didn't you know that? Because they were sworn to secrecy. We reported yesterday that Politico's Mike Allen was spotted milling about as a guest at the White House's "backyard bash" by the pool reporter, who was allowed into the event who was allowed into the event for 40 minutes and kept in a pen before being ushered out.

Exalted Invitation:
"You are being invited to attend this event as a guest. Blogging, Twittering or otherwise reporting on this event is not permitted. If you feel that you cannot agree to abide by these ground rules, please don't claim a ticket."

McClatchy admits Obama continues government’s secret business as usual, instead of his lofty campaign promises of transparency. Gee whiz Andy, the president lies, healthcare reform dies, that’s a good thing, right?

Obama campaign vow of public debate on health care fading
By David Lightman and Margaret Talev | McClatchy

WASHINGTON — Campaigning for president, Barack Obama said repeatedly that any overhaul of the health care system should be [negotiated publicly and televised for all to see.] Throughout this year's negotiations, however, the big deals have been struck in secret.
With tax increases and limits on what's covered among the possible ways of offsetting perhaps $1 trillion over a decade in expenses, neither the administration nor Congress is willing to give up its right to do the most sensitive talking in private, as it's always been done.

Bush's Secret Dinner -- With the Press

By Dan Froomkin
Special to washingtonpost.com
Friday, August 26, 2005; 12:00 PM

About 50 members of the White House press corps accepted President Bush's invitation last night to come over to his house in Crawford, eat his food, drink his booze, hang around the pool and schmooze with him -- while promising not to tell anyone what he said afterward.

It's something of a Bush tradition, a way of saying thank you to journalists for whom an extended stay in the Crawford area is anything but a vacation.

And in spite of all the recent press demands for senior administration officials to stay on the record more often, the press corps can't resist an offer of face time with the president, pretty much no matter what the conditions.

Nevertheless, I'm told that several reporters expressed squeamishness about last night's event, particularly as the press-pool vans drove by antiwar protester Cindy Sheehan's "Camp Casey" site. And later, a small handful watched askance as the rest fawned over Bush, following him around in packs every time he moved.

The Associated Press reports: "President Bush played host to the White House press corps Thursday night for a private off-the-record dinner at his ranch.

"The casual affair of fried catfish, potato salad, coleslaw, homemade cheese and chocolate-chip cookies followed a tradition in which Bush and his wife, Laura, have the press covering his annual August vacation out to the their ranch in central Texas as a sort of thank-you.

5:00 Anon: You missed the point, after all the false promises of transparency, Obobo tries to hide the truth, as he reneges on just about everything his teleprompter lied about from day one. Demanding secrecy is not transparency. It would seem to me a casual picnic in Crawford, TX where there is little for the press corps to do, verses a secret picnic in Washington DC where the press corps lives, is quite two different things.

Like we don’t know what deeply biased liberal hole Froomkin lives in. Geeez!

Dan Froomkin's deeply misleading "briefing"

The Washington Post's Dan Froomkin serves up a deeply misleading column about the president's attempt to defend himself from baseless and vicious attacks by the likes of, well, Froomkin. The liberal MSM knew that Bush wouldn't take indefinitely the pounding it has been dishing out. So, when Bush finally responded the Post had its main talking point prepared -- Bush is engaging in a political campaign. This allegation, in fact, was contained in the sub-title to its lead report on Bush's speech. As I noted on Saturday, this flagrant bit of spin represents not just an attempt to denigrate the president without addressing his arguments, but also a reflection of the MSM's greatest fear -- that Bush will take his case to the public and deal the Post and like-minded partisan organs yet another defeat.

Re: The Debt President’s transparency vow was shitcanned the first day. The Bush ranch picnic was an annual invitation for the press corps that had to spend a month in Crawford, Texas. No one had to attend that did not want to, and it was not a secret. If you read the article fully, you can pickup the hostility of Froomkin towards President Bush.

Dan Froomkin is a liberal hack. Who doesn’t know that? The referenced article is a good example of how the press tried to form opinions for people by their use of disparaging words. “Drink his booze” - “I'm told that several reporters” (The old some say, some say without names) - Mentioning the insane Cindy Sheehan. - “small handful watched askance as the rest fawned over Bush” (How absurd, everyone knows that the Press Corps DID NOT fawn over President Bush.)
Journalists' like Froomkin, is one very good reason the corrupt MSM is in a near catatonic state. I am surprised anyone trying to make a point would use the worst possible example of a journalist.

Politico writes: “Liberal columnist/blogger Dan Froomkin” There you have it. He was pooper-scooper all along. Good example of why the liberal press needs to hit the road.

Froomkin out at Washington Post
POLITICO learned today that the Washington Post has terminated its relationship with liberal columnist/blogger Dan Froomkin. Froomkin authored the "White House Watch" blog and was told today that the blog had essentially run its course.

-Claremont (NH) Eagle Times abruptly folds-
Union Leader

Staffers at the Eagle Times, a six-day-a-week paper, were told Thursday that Friday's paper would be the last, and that Eagle Publications was filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. "The economy and the changes in the newspaper industry have made it impossible to continue this business," the staff was told in a a memo. Claremont Mayor Deborah Cutts says: "I don't know what a city does without a newspaper. I can't imagine." || Rutland Herald: The news stunned Eagle Times employees and locals.

5:31, you're grasping at straws. Keep fooling yourself. The longer your kind will be out of influence and power, the better off the country will be.

What will the little lefty no-minds do when they find out that this crap about conservatives staying out of power was a lie? How long will the brainless minions of the left march in lock step as poll numbers circle the bowl?
Poor baby. It's not your fault; you are just repeating what they told you.

I await the memoir of Captain Pruitt’s iceberg encounter. Adrift at sea, looking for a landing place, floating on a bale of McClatchy’s money, listening to the Rolling on his ipod, laughing at the people he used as tools, planning his estate in Italy.
“Ride bene chi ride l’utimo”
English equivalent,
“He who laughs last laughs best.”
Sadly, the ‘Golden Boy’ can turn a once great newspaper company into a dung heap, and still grab the brass ring for himself. All the while his liberal rags try to usher in Socialism for the little folks to remain one step above poverty level to survive. What a guy folks, what a guy!

Someone needs to consider DOS (Delete on sight) status for our local troll.

This clown is just ridiculous and his inappropriate posts are detrimental to the MW.

After reading this blurb, I don’t know if the person that dumped the stock, or bought the shares did a smart thing? Did anyone do well with this transaction? I can’t grasp: “share price of three-tenths of a cent.” Newspaper shareholders are getting hosed, no question about that.
-----
Fitz: Someone apparently got the memo about Journal Register Co. a little late.
Two days after a bankruptcy judge approved the Yardley, Pa.-based publisher’s plan to emerge from Chapter 11 -- a plan that, among other things, [wipes out all shareholders value] -- someone found a market Thursday in Over-The-Counter trading to dump 445,000 shares of Journal Register (Pink Sheets: JRCOQ). That single trade went off at a [share price of three-tenths of a cent,] and accounted for nearly all the day’s volume of 480,000 shares.
That three-tenths of a penny price wasn’t so bad: JRCOQ [closed at one-tenth of a cent,] a drop of 20%.

I change my mind almost daily about allowing troll comments on a blog that states its political leanings. McC W is a conservative blog for the most part, IMO. Leftist trolls mostly make comments to interfere with the discussion, and demean the regular posters. Should that be allowed? Not if they turn the discussions into meaningless drivel. However, the little leftist whackjobs that post here, point out daily how deprived they are of rational thoughts. Their unhinged remarks are a good reminder of how the left really operates. They live to snark, not discuss the news of the day. I feel sorry for them.

Liberals were born miserable and delight in being miserable their entire lives. That's the genetic disposition for being a liberal. Typical liberal: miserable, wimpy, Prius-loving, gay and homeless advocate, season tickerholder to the ballet and big fans of Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie O'Donnell and Keith Olbermann.
