Quote of the day

This quote is from a former KC Star subscriber:

"I guess I'll get my old paper back when all the laid-off journalists get their old jobs back."

In any other industry, you would be asking yourself "how did we fail to meet the needs of the consumer"?

At one time, there were 3 networks, and a handfull of newscasters, trusted old fools like Walter Cronkite, controlled the Gates. If they wanted something, they only had to lean on the facts, bend the data, and spin the film clips, and sooner or later, lie upon lie (or what is worse, half-truth) and the Sheeple bleated along.

Internet Killed the Newspaper Star, folks. The left no longer owns the printing press, and people are starting to think for themselves. Viva la Revolution!

You'll know the Star and McClatchy are back when the Star pitches the Pitch.

Desperation is the only thing that keeps those fools printing the largest thorn in their side.

Dear leader votes present, again.

President Obama told reporters that he called the Cambridge cops today but that he did not apologize. FOX News reported:

President Obama stopped short of an apology to Sgt. James Crowley on Friday for saying he "acted stupidly" for arresting black Harvard scholar Henry Lewis Gates Jr., but said he should have chosen his words more carefully.

At an impromptu appearance at the daily White House briefing, Obama said he spoke with Crowley over the phone, and said he wanted to share a beer with Crowley and Gates at the White House.

"Because this has been ratcheting up and I helped contribute to ratcheting it up, I want to make clear that in my choice of words I unfortunately gave an impression that I was maligning the Cambridge Police Department or Sgt. Crowley specifically and I could have calibrated those words differently.

"My sense is you've got two good people in a circumstance in which neither of them were able to resolve it the way the wanted to resolve it," President Obama said.

Earlier in the day Friday, the Cambridge and area police unions voiced their support for Sgt. James Crowley and called for an apology from President Obama for his statement.

Liberals know how to read. Conservatives can only watch TV and listen to the radio. Reading takes too much thought. Well, that and most words are "printed" with black ink and most conservatives can't stand to look at anything black for long.

Why is crap like 12:29 allowed to remain here?

12:29 "Yawn" Jessie, Sharpton? Is that you?

12:29 Wrong Sluggo. Conservatives buy and read papers, just not McClatchy’s. Recall the recent 90% drop in your stock?

It’s liberals who watch TV, are on welfare, and continue to vote for freebies that the shrinking middle class doesn’t want to pay for any more

12:29 "Sweetie?" Is this you taking a different, albeit it a poorly feigned, but more manly tack here?

♫ I feel pretty,
Oh, so pretty,
I feel pretty and witty and bright!
And I pity
Any girl who isn't me tonight.

I feel charming,
Oh, so charming
It's alarming how charming I feel!
And so pretty
That I hardly can believe I'm real. ♫

Spain Q2 unemployment 17.9 pct vs 17.4 pct in Q1 (Almost like our socialist country huh?)

MADRID, July 24 (Reuters) - Spanish unemployment jumped to 17.9percent in the second quarter from 17.4 percent in the first quarter, the highest level since the fourth quarter of 1998 as Spain endures a deep recession, though rose at a slower rate than in the first quarter.

The number of unemployed workers rose by 1.756 million in the second quarter from a year before to a total of 4.137 million, Spain's National Statistics Institute reported on Friday.

Re 12:29

Apparantly not many liberals are reading either. If so, according to you, the print media should be overwhelmed with subscribers. Where are they??

Conservatives multitask, they read color publications, not black and white.

No, conservatives post stuff like 1:28 and call people "sweetie". They talk about Hitler & Goebells and they call people Marxist. They post endless replies to post that they cut and paste from other places. At times they even post and reply to themselves. On this site that is what conservatives do! Oh, they are also the first ones to whine about removing post and censorship is at the forefront of what they are about, including the host.

Now Goebells guy, call on Kevin to remove this.
