I agree, it was a week ago. But it's a victory for Free Speech.

Liberals printng ideas no one wants to buy.

You bet. Only the right wing is entitled to free speech. How dare liberals print ideas!

Idiot.

Sweetie, come on. Libs can and are welcome to print anything they want.

The issue is no one wanted to buy their Free Speech, hence they went out of business.

I sure get tired of the bitterness of the politics on these posts. Regardless of your feelings, it is quite sad that a business of 174 years is closing. Not everything boils down to liberals and conservatives. If everybody keeps thinking this way we are so screwed in more ways than just the stupid politics.
I would go on to say that 96% of the news in a paper is neutral (even boringly neutral) however over 75% of the comments here are strongly biased, politically.

It usually is not "Liberal printing ideas no one wants to buy" It is that we have given it away for free and tried to make a business model that isn't there.

///Sweetheart/// Do try to be consistent with your /// count. Only we know the secret signal, but I find it heartbreaking to share you with others.

Unhappily, I am still a feet on the Michigan ground person. Ann Arbor is a hotbed of socialism with their leftist college. The city is supposedly one doing better than most in this dying state. However, I have seen little notice of the taxpayers subsidies keeping this berg alive. Professors with huge salaries teaching very few classes, while the graduates of this fine college flee the state for jobs. Perhaps an honest newspaper would have stayed in business. This state needs a complete overhaul, starting with their warped elected officials. The businesses planning, I should say forced, to leave this state is more bad news for the taxpayers. MOO

Ken 8:49: Amen! Keep posting. We need more sensible comments like yours.

Ken 8:49: Giving biased and false news away free, didn’t sell. Why would one imagine charging for biased and false news, would sell? Is this part of the economics taught in liberal colleges by Marxist eggheads these days? And, Obama has an egghead Czar in charge of everything he can ‘thug’ through. THINK Impeachment, where do you buy that bumper sticker?

That all depends on the paper. Where you dug 96% up is anyone's guess but I can assure you that of the McClatchy papers that I have worked for, if you included the obits and classified you'd be lucky to see 50% neutrality. They sneak their agenda into every single space that they can possibly find and if that isn't enough, they use sportswriters, career journalists, business writers and the reader's rep to make shit up to promote their propaganda.

After that, you have to sort through all the advertising disguised as news.

As far as you not liking the political content to this blog, I guess you'll just have to look at it like your paper does toward their customers. Tough shit, take it or leave it. At least this guy isn't trying to sell you something or looking for ways to force you to buy it, all while offering something that McClatchy refuses to offer. News about McClatchy.

Besides myself, hundreds, if not thousands of college graduates are looking for work outside Michigan. It's the darn economy keeping me here. MI was in a one state recession long before the real thing hit every state. I will never payoff my college loans unless I get a better salary. The best job is working for the state, and the state is going broke. Think of the USSR, too many worked for the government, and not enough comrades worked for money. The workers grew lazy, and the debt engulfed communism. It didn’t work for them, and it doesn’t work for Michigan. I want out of this leftist paradise. A bailout for Detroit cannot fix the problems here.

"I want out of this leftist paradise."

The United States is the land of opportunity. Not perfect, but find something better.

Stop complaining and whinning and go start a business. Work hard at it. Give 100% of your effort to it (Don't waste time posting to stupid blogs). It might pay off. It might not. But at least you gave it your best. No one will call you lazy.

Otherwise, stop bitching and go work for the local government. It doesn't pay well, but it's a job.

Dearie. Thank you for your stating the obvious. You are brilliant. The smartest man you've ever met.
