After their accountants massage their numbers as best they can, I see a small profit in the 2,000 Quatloo range.

Gary Pruitt is a brilliant lawyer who has found a way to screw thousands of people at one time instead of one or two at a time!

It seems inevitable that the number 11 will be referenced in today's commentary by McClatchy's dear leader.

If the McClatchy gang that can’t write straight are as elitist, egotistical and are sociopathic liars like campbell brown, they will only sink lower, and lower than they area now.

Campbell Brown: ‘CNN Only One Still Doing Journalism’

On an interview show called “Give and Take,” hosted by sometime TV pundit Julie Menin, CNN’s Campbell Brown patted herself and her network on the back for being “the only one that is still doing journalism” in cable land.

beat analyst expectations, discuss debt exchange, possibly talk about year end guidance.

no mention of chapter 11, and no apology from MW claiming that mass layoffs were coming in June.

Stock up 40-50% today.

..Earnings ? At McClatchy ? If there are any, it will only be lipstick on a dying pig. Morticians lipstick, tarting up the dead.

Bankruptcy, followed by bits and pieces (some papers are doing "well") being bought by local investors. Basically, back to the pre-McClatchy, pre-Knight-Ridder, pre-Knight and pre-Ridder days when... gee... newspapers are owned locally. This will forestall the death of several of the papers. No need to make Wall Street happy. A whole new era will be opened: Will the local investors keep their hands off the editorial content of the papers, or will they let them "flourish" (by newsroom management's standards, which, of course, are liberal, if you read this blog much).

Discuss.
