“Barry Soetoro, received financial aid as a foreign student from Indonesia”
It is becoming clearer by the day why Barry refused to provide his birth certificate and related documents. The so-called watchdog press didn’t seem to care where Barry was born, or even ask routine questions of him. If the liberal MSM can’t, or won’t do their job, who needs them?
No one!

///Hello MW it's the 8th.///

And MW continually sees conspiracies when newspapers make errors. Another example of hypocrisy.

Whatever happened to ethics in the media? While one wonders what j-schools are teaching would-be journalists these days, we know what they do not teach, honest and ethical behavior. Perhaps years ago in journalism, ethics were a given, but today, liberal biased reporting is the given, IMO.

In a story about Harry Truman Star reporters lifted quotes from a Washington Post article, but wrote their article as if they were the ones who had ask the questions and done the interviews. I was told that was commonplace.

The story was the one in which Truman made disparaging remarks about Jews.

You better get out your ‘widdle’ pocket dictionary, and look that big word up ///sweetheart///.

"Serious issues of journalistic ethics at stake here." The NYT! Say it isn't so.

NYT pulls photos after questions raised about altering
NYTimes.com | MetaFilter

A person posting on MetaFilter writes: "This actually is (or should be) a major embarrassment for the NYT. The simple mirroring could almost be forgiven, but the photographer decided to get cute and photoshop in a few stray boards propped here and there to distract the eye from the perfect symmetry. It might seem a minor thing, but I think there really serious issues of journalistic ethics at stake here."

‘ASB’ Consulting and the initials of Arthur S. Brisbane. RiseUp didn’t pay him his bonuses.
Boo freakin Hoo!

RiseUp publisher owes $6 million, holds assets of $6,900
By DAN MARGOLIES

The Kansas City Star
Excerpts:
Another creditor of RiseUp is ASB Consulting of East Dennis, Mass., which provided consulting services to RiseUp and is said to be owed $255,568. ASB are the initials of former Star publisher and Knight Ridder executive Arthur S. Brisbane, who negotiated with newspapers to carry RiseUp.

Reached Tuesday at his home, Brisbane said he was paid by the hour and was supposed to get a bonus of $250,000 for his role in building a distribution system for RiseUp. Brisbane said he received some of his hourly fees but not the bonus.

Bloated big-time bonuses for executives from bankrupt newspapers. Who could believe something like that?

"Journal Register execs will be paid extra for failure"
New Haven Independent

A federal bankruptcy judge has cleared the way for Journal Register Co. to emerge from bankruptcy protection, but Connecticut’s attorney general vows to appeal the ruling, which approves over $1 million in bonuses for executives. "This decision means that bankruptcy is no bar against bloated big-time bonuses," says Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal.

Clocking online use-
The “Media Audit studied general usage of the Internet over a three-year period and found that 23% of adults go online between midnight and 8 a.m., up from 19.4% in 2006. Almost 27% of adults who go online do so between 10 p.m. and midnight, up from 23.6% in 2006. The greatest number of users, no surprise, is between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. -- 61% of adults.”

Newspaper sector stocks in an “irreversible phenomenon.” So that’s what they call mismanagement now?

Fitz: By the end of Tuesday, four of the eight newspaper sector stocks still listed on the New York Stock Exchange were trading below $1 a share.

It begins to feel as if the sector has arrived at a place where, perhaps unlike the newspaper business itself, it isn’t the brutal cyclical turndown that is the principal driver but a secular and irreversible phenomenon…

The McClatchy Co. (NYSE: MNI) led the broad decline in percentage terms by falling 6.4% on a 3-cent loss to 44 cents.

Stock is at 42 cents a share. When will the decline stop? Prepare the lifeboats Cap'n Gary.

-----------

It is hard to say when, but where is easy enough. Somewhere between 18 and 33 cents will be the new floor.

The odds are you'll continue to see weakness leading into the earnings report as Institutional Funds (mutual funds etc) will be unwinding before they report. Having MNI on their quarterly report doesn't look good to prospective customers.

After they report, the funds like Ariel who use their positions to influence content for political reasons are free to add to their position without the customers knowledge.

Do you have proof funds like Ariel use their positions to influence content for political reasons or are you just throwing out a "theory"?

--------------

Ariel funds is a well known Chicago based thug supporting entity that has never made a secret of its ties to political entities. (namely, Barrack Obama)

Ariel Funds one of the worst performing funds in history highlights itself as the first, "Black Owned" fund, is owned an operated by John W Rodgers and Chicago Political Activist and former President of the Chicago Parks board. He is an Obama operative with an extensive background of his own election campaigns in various positions, but has found his success in influence peddling and is also noted as a long time fund raiser for Daily and Blogovich in addition to contributing 100's of thousands Ariel's money on top of his own.

When a Chicago Politician can take a sizable percentage stake of ownership in a failing newspaper chain, he can leverage his agenda in type with no questions asked. He can influence the terms of employment, the board of directors, and even the editorial content.

That is how the game is played.

If that is your only claim to pretending it isn't true, you've lost your argument. Well, you never really had any purpose other than to say, "It can't be!" Now did you?

It is simply a fact. It isn't illegal to use a business as a political tool of influence and is most commonly used by right leaning companies. Leftist usually utilize "non profits" and "foundations" to peddle influence and launder their money.

Oh my what have we here.....Analysts still covering MNI have revised their earnings estimate downwards yet again for the upcoming earnings report.

The consensus (all two of them) now estimate earnings for the quarter to be -.08 down from -.06 last month.

Is McClatchy appearing worse than they thought, or are the guiding the estimate lower to purposely lower expectations?

6:17PM - What proof do you have Ariel influenced content at McClatchy's newspapers? It's a simple question. Your generalization may be accurate, but it does not prove what you describe happened at McClatchy.

It's a simple question.

It is a stupid one. He just explained to you how they operate and what their purpose was and you want to play the juvenile prove it game. This isn't a courtroom and just because you yell, "prove it" doesn't mean it isn't going on.

Grow up. You sound like a little teenager that needs his butt beat.

7:46PM - He didn't prove anything. He shared not one fact to support his claim Ariel indeed influenced content at McClatchy's newspapers. If he has proof, he should share specifics. I don't think that's asking too much.
