What is going on with the media?

Stories like this make me wonder if the media has turned against half of America: CBS Online Editor Refers to Town Hall Protesters as 'Teabaggers'.

"Teabagger" is a crude sexual reference that CBS's Charles Cooper is using to demean the protesters. Doug Ross says,

"It really has come down to this: the Democrats, the unions and the mainstream media... have aligned themselves against the taxpayers."

Dayum!! You just now figuring this out??

LOL! Just kidding.

The media long ago became agents of the State. Who corrupted whom is really irrelevant.

That's why you started your blog and why I started mine.

It will all get fixed soon. The internet IS that powerful.

Teabagger is indeed a crude sexual reference made chosen by members of he liberal media to ridicule people who disagree with Obama. Anderson Cooper is the poster boy for the smarmy, smirky journalist who uses a term he knows well to ridicule other Americans who don't.
Yucking it up with their buds on the inside, liberals like Cooper traded their credibility for a smirk.

Walter -- seems like the media is getting worse.

The media is as desperate as the Democrats to keep their fraudulent plans of Hope and Change alive. The corrupt media put all their efforts behind Obama, and he is a Joker. If either one goes down the drain, they will drag the other with them. Picture both Obama and the MSM going gurgling down into the sewer together. Ah, rats returned to their homeland. It will happen, the people have been awakened.

So much for the CBS on line editor's crediblity.
He finds nothing wrong with the teabagger term because all of his friends use it. He doesn't know ANYONE who does not think protectors are crazy.
His protective little bubble has become an intellectual asphyxia bag.

These types of bias are why mainstream media is no longer trusted and why it is in trouble financially. People aren't buying it - literally and figuratively. The lefty media is sinking with Obama, while the right is flying high. Fox, O'Reilly, Rush and Hannity have never had such high ratings and viewership totals. MSNBC is teetering on bankruptcy.

These people that are going to these town hall meetings should be thrown out. It is our right to dissent but all these meetings have turned into are just a bunch of yelling matches that are getting nothing accomplished. They look like a bunch of crazy people. What they need to do is find that stupid lady who, when talking to McCain, said that Obama was a Muslim. Put her on tour with Plumber Joe and we'll call if the republican freak show tour, '09

Nobody has to blame the Tea-bag label but those who picked suck a stupid hokey term to describe the conservative revolt.

8:43 AM So you're saying that it is the protesters fault that homosexual media types are slandering them with homosexual references?

Dude, that is a little out there even for a leftist.

Honestly, I had NEVER heard of the homo term of Tea bagging before the media pointed it out. It truly was the media that made the Tea Bagger label derogatory. Most of us never think about putting our buddy's nuts in our mouth and doing the deed.

8:28 thinks that people should be thrown out for expressing dissent.
Maybe if you could force them into re-education camps you might be happy.
Having union goons beat them up was not good enough?
Since they have deviant ideas maybe the state should seize their children or hospitalize them.
What's next, concentration camps for undesirables?

Hey 8:43, if my wife tells me that she got a facial today, should I just assume she that some other guy provided the sexual act onto her face or should I assume she went to her skin care specialist?
The media and porn business can twist any term they want. This was made certainly clear when the tax protesters were labeled as 'tea-baggers'. 10:04 nailed it too.

Remember the Democrats reaction to President Bush trying to reform Social Security? Send in the clowns was their strategy. If you read this article, the hypocrisy of the liberals is so thick, it is beyond sickening.

Remember when protest was patriotic?
By: Glenn Harlan Reynolds

"Protest is patriotic!" "Dissent is the highest form of patriotism!"
These battle-cries were heard often, in a simpler America of long ago -- that is, before last November. Back then, protests -- even if they were organized by the usual leftist apparatchik-groups like ANSWER or ACORN -- were seen - at least in the media - as proof of popular discontent.

When handfuls of Code Pink ladies disrupted congressional hearings or speeches by Bush administration officials, it was taken as evidence that the administration's policies were unpopular, and that the thinking parts of the populace were rising up in true democratic fashion….

As a journalist, I would never use the term "teabagger," to refer to the Tea Party people. However, as a professional who is serious about my calling, I would likely challenge them to their claims. For example, in my city I saw a couple of Tea Party groups, both of which had members who hadn't personally paid taxes in quite some time. And I'm not just talking about the many children who were dragged to the events. Most admitted their taxes had gone down and that they had received tax refunds. Most had no idea that the current administration would target the wealthy for tax hikes. In fact, most of these people made less than $30,000 a year, falling into almost the lowest tax bracket. They even believed that tax rates under Reagan were lower, when just the opposite is true. My newspaper wouldn't publish my story on this challenge. But I find it interesting that the people who organize these events don't better educate their willing, easy-to-get-riled-up subjects they plan to showcase.

Obama as the great unifier? That is a good one! Never has the USA been divided as it is now. The Democrats want us to snitch on each other. Obama uses thugs and lies to sell his failed health care plan. The Democrats won’t appear in public to answer questions, stating their reasons are the staged protests, but send out union thugs to hit back twice as hard. A black man was assaulted in ST. Louis, and peppered with racial slurs, and the Jesse Jackson crowd says nothing. What a crock of shit this Hope and Change agenda is. Perhaps 30% of the voters are less than clear on why they voted for Obama, but even they surely see what is going on now, how could they not?

There is some documentation that it is the unions goons starting the yelling matches at the townhall meetings. I don’t expect that information to even be investigated by the biased media. They are too far down the road of corruption to admit what they did during the last election, let alone being honest now.

Who are the union goons attending the townhall meetings? The Service Employees International Union? Who else? Maybe they are selling something we don’t have to buy? There is more than one way to skin a cat. It is working with the lying media isn't it?

Hey 11:30 AM, did you challenge the Code Pink crazies?

Anonymous said...

However, as a professional who is serious about my calling, I would likely challenge them to their claims.

That is funny. Then you continue on with a pack of lies and unsubstantiated claims of of imaginary groups that do not pay taxes, tax cuts that do not exist and a intuitive knowledge of what all their incomes were.

Recall it was anderson "up the pooper" cooper who first used the term teabagger/ teabagging on CNN.

Anonymous said...

And as a "professional journalist" did you show that same agressiveness toward the Code pinkers, Cindy Shehan or the people at MoveOn.org.
Of course not.
That's why you are a professional.
You are only clairvoyant and aggressive when the protesters are going off your reservation.

Anon 11:30, If you are such an expert on who has NOT paid their taxes, how did the Obama Cabinet tax cheaters get past the MSM? Even after is was know they are tax cheaters, little was said about it. A cheater, is a cheater, is a cheater! Who expects anything honest from these people? Follow the cheater, is the game they play right before our eyes, and the media is blind.
So long blind media, so long.

11:30 AM, That was the most absurd post I have ever read. I dislike thinking you are a journalist. You say, “as a professional who is serious about my calling.” You are questioning taxpayers? Are you questioning the union goons? I hope every dishonest journalist in the USA is out of a job soon. My disgust with the media grows stronger by the day. You are not helping your cause with this sort of crap, if you are a journalist?

I have a group of fifty people and if you can look at them and know who didn't pay their taxes, we can save a lot of money on Audits.

But...but...when I read on my regular websites they call these people teabaggers all the time. Everyone I know calls these people teabaggers. No one actually believes them... do they?
