Joe Wilson is Right, he is lying.

The health bill places no condition on immigration status before someone will be covered by the program.

Republicans in the house committee proposed an amendment requiring proof of citizenship. It was defeated.

Why would the democrats vote against that unless they were planning to cover illegal immigrants?

House Health Care Bill Benefits Illegals

The Congressional Research Service confirmed yesterday that illegals would benefit under the House version of the Heath Care Bill.

From a press release issued today by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR):

(Washington, DC) Tuesday, the Congressional Research Service (CRS), the “research arm” for the United States Congress, issued a report validating an analysis by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), that illegal aliens would be able to receive benefits under the House health care reform bill, America’s Affordable Health Care Act of 2009 (H.R. 3200).

The report, Treatment of Noncitizens in H.R. 3200, states definitively, “H.R. 3200 does not contain any restrictions on noncitizens – whether legally or illegally present, or in the United States temporarily or permanently – participating in the Exchange.” H.R. 3200 establishes a Health Insurance Exchange which would provide individuals and small businesses with access to health care plans, including the “public option” to be managed by the government.

Flashback... Democrats "BOO" Bush during SOTU address.

TED KOPPEL (ABC host): When the president talked about the bankruptcy of Social Security, there were clearly some Democrats on the floor who thought that that was taking it too far. And they did something that, apparently, no one at this table has ever heard before. They booed. [ABC, Nightline, 2/2/05;

ObamaCare: A Trojan Horse for more Forced Unionization (WSJ)

In the heated debates on health-care reform, not enough attention is being paid to the huge financial windfalls ObamaCare will dole out to unions—or to the provisions in the various bills in Congress that will help bring about the forced unionization of the health-care industry.

Tucked away in thousands of pages of complex new rules, regulations and mandates are special privileges and giveaways that could have devastating consequences for the health-care sector and the American economy at large.

The Senate version opens the door to implement forced unionization schemes pursued by former Govs. Rod Blagojevich of Illinois in 2005and Gray Davis of California in 1999.

Both men repaid tremendous political debts to Andy Stern and his Service Employees International Union (SEIU) by reclassifying state-reimbursed in-home health-care (and child-care) contractors as state employees—and forcing them to pay union dues.

Following this playbook, the Senate bill creates a "personal care attendants workforce advisory panel" that will likely impose union affiliation to qualify for a newly created "community living assistance services and support (class)" reimbursement plan.

The current House version of ObamaCare (H.R. 3200) goes much further. Section 225(A) grants Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius tremendous discretionary authority to regulate health-care workers "under the public health insurance option."

FACT CHECK: Obama drops iffy line on health plan (Even Associated Press Admits Obama Lied!)

In his speech to Congress on Wednesday night, President Barack Obama gave a more accurate — and less reassuring —account of the impact of his proposed health care overall than he has done in the past. It went by in a blink.

He told Americans that nothing he is proposing will force businesses or consumers to change their existing insurance coverage. That much is true.

It's also true that nothing in his plan guarantees that policies people have now will continue to be available in the same form.

In earlier accounts, he spoke with unmerited certainty in saying people who are happy with their current insurance can simply keep it.

Other parts of his speech repeated some of the oversimplified claims that have marked his salesmanship.

NYT Editor Offers Tepid Excuses for Lack of Van Jones Coverage

A top editor at the New York Times this week owned up to the paper’s lack of coverage of the controversy surrounding former Green Jobs Czar Van Jones.

Rather than leaving it there, however, the editor noted the paper’s minimal online coverage, insisted that the Washington bureau was short-staffed, and suggested that Jones and his contentious positions really were not important enough to cover at length.

NYT's Thomas Friedman Again Praises Communist China for Getting Things Done

New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman again showed a disturbing affection for China's dictatorship in his Wednesday column attacking Republican stubbornness on health care and climate change legislation ("Our One-Party Democracy").

Friedman pleaded for "enlightened" autocrats, able to get things accomplished against the will of the people, for their own good.

Watching both the health care and climate/energy debates in Congress, it is hard not to draw the following conclusion:

There is only one thing worse than one-party autocracy, and that is one-party democracy, which is what we have in America today.

One-party autocracy certainly has its drawbacks. But when it is led by a reasonably enlightened group of people, as China is today, it can also have great advantages.

As a bonus delusion, Friedman calls the big-spending, "czar"-crazy Barack Obama a centrist.

NY Times full-page ad: new propaganda from the "Progressive Change Campaign Committee"

Per their e-mail blast, this collection of groups is "unveiling a full-page New York Times ad featuring hundreds of Obama campaign workers asking President Obama to fight for a public health insurance option because a bill without it would not be 'change we can believe in.'"

Link to see their ad. Sponsored by "BoldProgressives.org" and "ActBlue.com",

Their e-mail blast continues: "Now we'll get started on a new TV ad featuring the voices of Obama campaign staffers -- as well as other powerful ads aimed at members of Congress who need a push.

This is crunch time, and we'll be ready to assert smart pressure where it's needed in the coming days."

These efforts evidently appeal to members of Obama's Cult of Personality.

The Sorry State of Journalism (Pajamas Media)

The sorry state of journalism circa 2009 shouldn’t leave any writer, university-trained or otherwise, feeling inferior.

I earned three arts degrees during my protracted college career, but even a recovering art major can share a little wisdom with today’s working reporters:

1. Hypocrisy works both ways. It’s hypocritical for a family values proponent to step out on his wife. That same standard applies to global warming advocates who leave carbon footprints that would dwarf Godzilla’s instep.

Or, for a more recent example, it’s hypocritical for Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi to label boisterous town hall protesters “un-American” even though she applauded liberal activists who spoke out just as loudly a few years back.

2. Don’t take your marching orders from Media Matters. Two organizations scour the media for bias and misinformation — Media Matters for America from the left and Newsbusters from the right.

Read both daily and you’ll be a better, more informed reporter. But please don’t take Media Matters’ talking points as gospel.

That group occasionally overplays its hand — just witness its silly assault on Rush Limbaugh over the faux “phony soldiers” scandal.

3. Read both right and left political blogs (and Andrew Sullivan‘s site doesn’t count as conservative)....

Eric Holder Alert: Inquiry after DOJ dropped voter intimidation complaints about Black Panthers (Washington Times)

The Justice Department's Office of Professional Responsibility has begun an inquiry into the dismissal in May of a civil complaint against the New Black Panther Party and two of its members who disrupted a Philadelphia polling place during last year's presidential elections.

The inquiry was disclosed in an Aug. 28 letter to Rep. Lamar Smith, ranking Republican on the House Judiciary Committee who first raised questions about the case's dismissal and asked Attorney General Eric H. Holder, Jr., to make available the head of the department's Voting Section for a closed-door briefing about the decision.

In the letter, Mary Patrice Brown, acting counsel, told the Texas congressman that the Office of Professional Responsibility had "initiated an inquiry into the matter" and would "contact you with the results of our inquiry once it is completed." A copy of the letter was obtained by The Washington Times.

Tom Daschle: K Street Tax Cheat Turned Health Reform Promoter (IBD)

Tom Daschle is the human toe fungus of Washington — a persistent infection that may disappear from time to time, but always comes back with a vengeance.

Despite abandoning his secretary of health and human services nomination in disgrace in February 2009, the K Street tax cheat who evaded IRS rules for years remains a top White House confidante and policy strategist.

In fact, he's leading the drive to save ObamaCare. He climbed up from under the bus back into the Oval Office and onto the sets of "Meet the Press" and "This Week With George Stephanopoulos" to offer his rescue plan.

It's Daschle's idea to morph the unpopular "public option" into nonprofit "health care co-ops" that will almost certainly receive government funding, support and tax advantages over private insurers.

Hillary fed up? (Page Six)

Hillary Clinton is said to be frustrated with her lack of authority as secretary of state and resentful of the glacial pace of the White House vetting process.

President Obama's picks fly in even if they didn't pay their taxes. But her picks take forever," noted one Democrat.

"Plus, she has no real clout over Holbrooke or Mitchell. Richard Holbrooke is Obama's "special representative" for Afghanistan and Pakistan. George Mitchell is "special envoy" to the Middle East. Clinton is said to be considering quitting to retake her old US Senate seat now held by Kristin Gillibrand-- or running for governor, as one rumor has it.

"Her argument will be that Gillibrand is in danger of losing the seat to the Republicans," said a source.

(That must be why she is putting on the poundage. Did you see her in that big red pant suit during the speech. She looked like a balloon.)

ObamaCare already slashes number of uninsured! PATTERICO

How awesome is ObamaCare? So awesome that it has already reduced the number of uninsured by 17 million people!

At least, Pres. Obama magically dropped the number of uninsured from the 47 million that Democrats have been chanting like a mantra to 30 million in his speech

The magical reduction serves at least two purposes. First, as Frank Luntz notes in the video, it helps the Democrats claim that ObamaCare will not cover millions of illegal immigrants.

House Democrats have rejected every attempt to require that people should be required to prove they are a citizen of the United States before receiving government health care subsidies, despite the fact that verification is overwhelmingly popular with voters.

But pulling illegals out of the uninsured helps them sweep that inconvenient truth under the rug a while longer — or so they hope.

The other benefit is that adopting a more honest number of the uninsured will make ObamaCare seem cheaper and (near-)universal coverage easier to attain.

Again, in reality, ObamaCare would play out far differently, making the underlying cost estimates a fantasy.

But the establishment media is so desperate to spin a Obama’s speech as “comeback” that there is almost zero chance that anyone will challenge Pres. Obama’s most obvious and arbitrary rewriting of the healthcare narrative.

The GOP Response to Obama’s Health Care Plan PATTERICO

Republicans want reform without rationing or higher taxes. They call on President Obama to agree to these four bipartisan ideas that most Americans seem to agree on:

All individuals should have access to coverage, regardless of preexisting conditions.

Individuals, small businesses and other groups should be able to join together to get health insurance at lower prices, the same way large businesses and labor unions do.

Provide assistance to those who still cannot access a doctor.

Insurers should be able to offer incentives for wellness care and prevention.

Republicans also support the following ideas that President Obama does not agree with:

Real medical liability reform, including tough liability reform standards, speedy resolution of claims, and deterring junk lawsuits that drive up the cost of care.

Let families and businesses buy insurance across state lines to help control premiums and hold down costs.

Democrats beat Republicans soundly in 2008. But they're losing the fight with their current opponent - conservatives on the Internet, radio, and television. It was the wrong battle for President Obama and his party to pick in the first place, but the policy decisions and mistakes made since the Democratic takeover have shifted the battle to even less favorable terrain. Worse still, the fight is only just beginning.

ACORN Officials Videotaped Telling 'Pimp,' 'Prostitute' How to Lie to IRS (Fox News)

Officials with the controversial community organizing group ACORN were secretly videotaped offering to assist two individuals posing as a pimp and a prostitute, encouraging them to lie to the IRS and how to claim underage girls from South America as dependents.

In the videotape on BigGovernment.com, made on July 24, James O'Keefe, a 25-year-old independent filmmaker, posed as a pimp with a 20-year-old woman named "Kenya" who posed as a prostitute while visiting ACORN's office in Baltimore. The couple told ACORN staffers they wanted to secure housing where the woman could continue to maintain a prostitution business.

On the videotape, "Kenya" can be seen telling an ACORN staffer that she earns roughly $8,000 a month. The ACORN employee then suggests to "Kenya" that ACORN could submit a tax return for 2008 showing that she made $9,600 for the entire year — instead of $96,000 — and that ACORN would charge "Kenya" $50 instead of the usual $150 fee for preparing her taxes.

The ACORN staffer can also be seen suggesting that the prostitute list her occupation as a freelance "performing artist."

The "pimp" later says that he and "Kenya" plan to bring up to 13 "very young" girls from El Salvador to work as prostitutes. Although an ACORN staffer points out their plans are illegal, she also suggests that the girls can be claimed as dependents.

The staffer goes on to suggest that as many as three of the underage girls can be listed as dependents at the home, but a "flag" will be raised if as many as 13 are listed.

A second ACORN employee can be heard on the audiotape suggesting that the couple join... for an annual cost of $120 prior to attending one of its first-time homebuyer seminars, which are underwritten with taxpayer funds.

Of Course... Obama Omitted Critical Details About Waxahachie Woman's Breast Cancer Nightmare
(GatewayPundit)

Barack Obama last night included the story of a Waxahachie woman's breast cancer nightmare in his speech to Congress. Obama said the evil insurance company canceled her policy for failing to report a pre-existing condition: acne:

"...More and more Americans pay their premiums, only to discover that their insurance company has dropped their coverage when they get sick, or won't pay the full cost of care. It happens every day.... [A] woman from Texas was about to get a double mastectomy when her insurance company canceled her policy because she forgot to declare a case of acne.

But, of course, Barack Obama forgot to mention a couple of things...

Robin Beaton's insurance company retroactively canceled her policy because she had failed to inform them of her history of acne and a rapid heartbeat.

First of all, the woman, Robin Beaton, had her insurance canceled not because of her acne condition.

Obama forgot to mention this in his talk.

Also, President Obama forgot to mention that the breast cancer survival rate is much greater here in the United States than in countries with socialized medicine.
In fact, women with breast cancer have a 14 percent higher survival rate in the United States than in Europe. Breast cancer mortality is 52 percent higher in Germany than in the United States, and 88 percent higher in the United Kingdom. Breast cancer mortality is also 9 percent higher in Canada than in the US. Less than 25 percent of U.S. women die from breast cancer. In Britain, it's 46 percent; France, 35 percent; Germany, 31 percent; Canada, 28 percent; Australia, 28 percent, and New Zealand, 46 percent.

The President Learned Nothing From August (Heritage Foundation)

“There remain some significant details to iron out.” Thus spoke the President of the United States last night, in an address in which, with a straight face, he told an awaiting nation that he was finally delivering not lofty rhetoric, but his grand plan on health care.

On that score President Obama was right. It may have been, however, a bit of an understatement.

Absent, of course, was how exactly all the savings he confidently predicted would materialize, how exactly the government would prevent employers from dumping all their employees into a government plan and how czars and boards would operate without bureaucrats coming between Americans and their doctors. Ah, details, details...

To the question that all of America wanted an answer, to wit, is the President abandoning his stubborn attachment to a public plan, the President had no clear response. Or maybe he did.

He appeared to draw a line on the sand at one point by saying, “I will not back down from the idea that, if Americans cannot find affordable coverage, we will provide you with a choice.”

Maybe that was the clearest indication of the night that Barack Obama is still sticking to the public plan, to be introduced by whatever means. But a minute later he said he was open to other ideas!

As for the rest on this subject in a 45-minute speech, his 29th devoted to health care in nine months in office, Mr. Obama ducked behind the English language—or, more charitable observers would say, used it to its fullest extent.

There was his promise, for example that “nothing in this plan will require you or your employer to change the coverage or the doctor you have.” This is a change, even an improvement on past exertions.

Previously, the President had insisted that nobody would be forced to abandon the insurance plan they have. Last night he said nobody will be required.

See the change? Of course, all he seems to mean is that the government won’t require you – he said nothing about what the consequences of the plan may prod your employer to do.

Cool... But, Yes, Communist (The New Republic)

He's tall, trim, with shaved head, a confident demeanor, wearing a dark turtleneck, kind 'a funny and Yale Law School. Cool. Co-o-o-l. Or maybe even wow!

He's Van Jones, and he resigned on Saturday as what the White House called its "czar" for the environment. There are actually many czars at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in this administration, and I wonder why the historical resonance of the word doesn't just give the Obama crowd the creeps. Unless, of course, they want to govern like czars ... and czarinas.

To be sure, Mr. Jones did not have an option even though Valerie Jarrett was his admiring pal. But my admired pal Rahm and his partner David Axelrod must have known from the get-go that Jones would have to move on. If they had seen a serious vetting of the professional agitator he wouldn't have been allowed to cross the threshold of the presidential palace.

Now, the get-go began with Glenn Beck. I am not embarrassed to confess that until this ideological donnybrook broke out I'd never ever even heard of Glenn Beck. You see, I don't watch FOX. But, then, I don't watch any television.

Anonymous said...

More from this very article:

The fact is that Jones is a communist, an identity (which like "fascist") carries deep and authentic historical and moral opprobrium. Today's communists want to ignore the mass murders, the gulags, the ideological strait jackets, the sheer viciousness of their (sometimes subliminal) heroes.

But they are vicious enough themselves...(Jones) does not wish America well, and all of his rhetoric points to a revolutionary stance.

Which also demonstrates how stupid he is. If he thinks that the American people are eager, or even willing to take a revolutionary road to their future he might, for his own better sake, be placed in a funny farm.

No ObamaCare no matter how he changes it

No matter how Obama lies and says he's fixed his "Health Care Reform" abomination, it shouldn't be accepted under any circumstances. Because Obama is a radical left-wing racist it is a fact that the new health care system will be essentially staffed through extreme affirmative action both in the system itself and in the medical schools. That means that we will be "cared for" by low-IQ, third-world savages. Health care will be a huge social engineering and income redistribution program that will put quality health care as its last priority. The government would be incompetent the provide quality health care even if that was their purpose (which it is not). Two of the most important goals of "Health Care Reform" is confiscating guns and empowering the unions. Two horrible developments.

And since our traitorous government, most specifically the thuggish IRS, will be the ones deciding who has proper insurance outside the system and who doesn't, most of us will be forced to enroll in Obama's horror show. There is no way that that lying tyrant will be content to allow private health insurance to exist at all. And it will not lower costs. The United States government is officially bankrupt and no amount of lying will change that. That means the taxpayer will suffer tremendously in much higher taxes, inflation, transfers to those who can't pay and any number of other economic distortions added to the ones government has already caused (the diversity housing bubble for instance and the total destruction of our currency and the industrial sector.) The health care obamination combined with cap and trade will complete the economic destruction of the United States. Of course that is one of Obama's primary goals.

The only true statement in the snake oil salesman’s speech fest was said by another, "You lie."

Now we have another Joe that tells the truth. So many people are trying to contribute to his campaign that it crashed his site. I am sending mine by mail.

The average working stiff is called Joe Six-pack, and if you think about it, two men with enough backbone to tell the truth are both Joes.

**GLENN BECK WINS AGAIN!**
NEA Communications Director Resigns

Politico ^ | 9-10-09 | Ben Smith
The communications director for the National Endowment for the Arts is no longer in his job amid a flap over suggestions he suggested artists work to further President Obama's legislative agenda. A conservative artist writing on the site Big Hollywood first complained that the official, later identified as Yosi Sargent, had been on a conference call with artists aimed at furthering President Obama's legislative agenda -- a bit of a no-no for the agency, which does its best to stay apolitical. [SNIP] Huffington Post's Ryan Grim reported that Sergant had been "asked to resign," and played it as another scalp...

Glenn Beck's New McCarthyism?

Glenn Beck has revived one of the most shameful chapters in American political history. Sen. Joseph McCarthy spent years ruining the lives of patriotic Americans serving in the United States government and beyond. He did it through fearmongering and baseless, unproven accusations. He combed the past statements and associations of loyal U.S. citizens and then shamefully accused them of being traitors bent on the destruction of the American way of life.

At a time when conservatives are unable to find new leadership or present new ideas to address the challenges facing our nation, it is perhaps fitting that their media leaders and spokespeople -- individuals like Glenn Beck -- have fallen back on a 60-year-old slander: communist. Beck's forum consists of his radio program, his nightly show on Fox News, and his books. The witnesses he calls at his hearings form the endless parade of political demagogues he hosts as guests. And one by one, he is targeting the president's advisers -- not based on their current actions or statements, not because of any actual policy initiatives they have proposed since President Obama took office, but rather through the use of guilt-by-association reasoning or because of cherry-picked comments from their past, often provided in a highly misleading context. It's just the kind of vitriolic irresponsibility that McCarthy specialized in, too.

Beck's fixation on a sinister communist threat undermining America's capitalist democracy would be entirely laughable were it not revealing of something more fundamental. Beck and the Right have consistently portrayed Obama as a Manchurian candidate bearing Trojan Horse policies. Thus, the president isn't a uniter but a secret divider. He doesn't love the America we have, hoping to improve it. Rather, he seeks to destroy it. He doesn't represent a triumph on America's path toward genuine racial equality. Rather, he seeks little more than obtaining reparations and the radical redistribution of wealth and power on a racial basis. Such a philosophy plays to the most distrustful -- and often, dangerous -- elements of our society.

Beck will not stop with Van Jones. Yesterday he dedicated much of his show to Cass Sunstein, Obama's regulatory czar, whom he portrayed as a crazed animal rights activist who believes that rats matter more than people. As was the case with McCarthy, his distortions will continue unabated until the public recognizes his campaign for what it is: a witch hunt. As journalist Edward R. Murrow said of McCarthy in 1954, "We will not be driven by fear into an age of unreason, if we dig deep in our history and our doctrine, and remember that we are not descended from fearful men."

Such words could, and should, be spoken, too, of Beck.
