The Charlotte Observer is one of the largest newspapers in the Southeast area with circulation at 209,218 daily and 258,722 Sunday. The Charlotte Observer employs approximately 750 employees and is owned by McClatchy.

The Advertising Sales Representative position is responsible for selling advertising to local businesses with an assigned area, meeting sales goals, growing new sales business, building relationships with current advertisers to increase sales, creating an effective ad and scheduling. The Advertising Sales Representative positions needs a self motivated individual, who is driven to succeed, goal oriented and maintains strong time management skills.

The Advertising Sales Representative position is responsible establishing, developing and maintaining contacts with the key decision makers of companies doing business with our newspaper. Achieve and increase advertising sales revenue with exiting and new accounts. Have thorough understand of the market and products sold in order to create professional and effective proposals.

Requirements:

High School Education and College Degree Preferred. Proposal writing experience and presentation skills are a must. This position requires reliable transportation to visit with clients. Great communications shills required due to high level of contact with customers. Prefer candidate with familiarity with the Lake Norman area to source and network with customer base.
