White House Vs. Fox: Chairman Mao (ANITA DUNN RESPONDS) (The New York Times Shills)

In an e-mail message, Ms. Dunn said, “My source for the Mao quote was actually the late Lee Atwater, either in an article or bio I read after the 1988 election. Now that I’ve revealed this I hope I don’t get Keith Olbermann angry with me. Let it be noted that I also quoted Mother Teresa, but no one is accusing me of being a saint!”

The source for the Mao quote is irrelevant, Ms. Dunn. Your words stand -- you said them.

Further, she was not quoting ANYBODY. She was telling the kids who her ‘inspirations’ were.

Obama Advisor Robert Reich Blasted for Promoting Death Panels (LifeNews.com)

Obama Advisor Robert Reich Blasted for Promoting Death Panels
Washington, DC -- Former vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin got pilloried for suggesting that the government-run health care system set up under the bills in Congress would lead to "death panels."

But, now, a video has surfaced showing Obama economics advisor Robert Reich essentially admitting Palin was right.

Robert Reich Invents Lame 'Out of Context' Excuse to Explain Away Brutal Health Care Truths (NewsBusters)

Robert Reich has finally responded to the audio of him telling "brutal truths" to an audience at Berkeley which your humble correspondent chronicled here in NewsBusters on Tuesday.

Here are the gems delivered up by Reich as to what he claims an honest candidate for president would say about health care if he didn't worry about getting elected:

"We're going to have to, if you're very old, we're not going to give you all that technology and all those drugs for the last couple of years of your life to keep you maybe going for another couple of months. It's too expensive...so we're going to let you die."
"...I am going try to reorganize it to be more amenable to treating sick people but that means you, particularly you young people, particularly you young healthy people...you're going to have to pay more."

"...What that means, less innovation and that means less new products and less new drugs on the market which means you are probably not going to live much longer than your parents."

So what was Reich's excuse for these assertions?

Why he was "taken out of context."

$1.4 Trillion Deficit Complicates Stimulus Plans ($21 trillion debt)
NY Times

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration said Friday that the federal budget deficit for the fiscal year that just ended was $1.4 trillion, nearly a trillion dollars greater than the year before and the largest shortfall relative to the size of the economy since 1945.

The number, while lower than forecast a few months ago, underscored the challenges ahead in shrinking the deficit even as the White House and Congress are considering more steps to stimulate an economy that is making a slow recovery.

The political hurdles to finding a solution were evident on Friday as each political party immediately blamed the other for the growth of the deficit.

The shortfall for the fiscal year 2009, which ended Sept. 30, translates to 10 percent of the economy, according to a joint statement from the Treasury secretary, Timothy F. Geithner, and the director of the Office of Management and Budget, Peter R. Orszag. For the 2008 fiscal year, the deficit of $459 billion was 3.2percent of the economy, as measured by the gross domestic product.

But on Friday, the deficit was front and center. The overall national debt, which is the accumulation of annual deficits, is nearly $12 trillion, and projected deficits for the next decade will add an estimated $9 trillion more.

Florida unemployment rate highest in 24 years (bizjournals.com)

There’s mixed news on the unemployment front. While the rate was up statewide and in Broward and Palm Beach counties, it was down in Miami-Dade, where the rate has been steadily climbing during the economic downturn.

The statewide unemployment rate inched up 0.2 percentage points in September to 11 percent from a revised August rate of 10.8 percent, according to the Florida Agency for Workforce Innovation.

California Job Losses Continue To Climb [Staggering 12.2%: LA County 12.7%!] LATimes

Job losses for September are higher than expected and more than five times greater than in August, state officials say.

California posted higher-than-expected job losses in September, a sign that the state's employment woes continue even amid signs of a broader economic recovery.

Employers cut 39,000 workers from their payrolls last month, according to figures released this morning by the state Employment Development Department.

That's more than five times the number of jobs that state officials now say California lost in August, led by cuts in construction and government.

Illinois unemployment hits 26-year high (Chicago Sun-Times)

The state’s unemployment rate jumped to 10.5 percent in September, the highest level in 26 years, and up from 10 percent in August and from 6.7 percent in September 2008, the Illinois Department of Employment Security said today.

The average over the past three months increased .1 percent to 10.3percent, the highest level since December 1983.

Obama's Regulatory Czar Defends Communism & Says America Too Racist For Socialism (GatewayPundit) Another commie in the White House.

Obama's Regulatory Czar Cass Sustein says that America is too racist for socialism and defends communism.

The U.S. should move in the direction of socialism but the country's "white majority" opposes welfare since such programs largely would benefit minorities, especially blacks and Hispanics, argued President Obama's newly confirmed regulatory czar, Cass Sunstein.

"The absence of a European-style social welfare state is certainly connected with the widespread perception among the white majority that the relevant programs would disproportionately benefit African Americans (and more recently Hispanics)," wrote Sunstein.

The Obama czar's controversial comments were made in his 2004 book "The Second Bill of Rights," which was obtained and reviewed by WND. In the book, Sunstein openly argues for bringing socialism to the U.S. and even lends support to communism.

NY facing $4.1B deficit by 2010 (The Business Review)

New York state’s budget deficit could soon hit $4.1 billion and the state is poised to run out of cash, state Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli warned on Oct. 14.

The deficit projection is $1 billion larger than earlier estimates given by Gov. David Paterson. DiNapoli said the state will face $4.1 billion of red ink by March 2010, the end of the current fiscal year, if no action is taken.

“Now, time is up. The budget simply has not held together,” DiNapoli said. “If we stay on the current path, New York will run out of cash. The spending promises made in the spring are not sustainable in the face of falling revenue.”

Former CBO Chief Calls Obama Administration Fiscal Policies ‘Laughable’ (CNS News)

A former Republican congressional budget chief called the Obama administration’s claims to fiscal responsibility “hypocritical” and “laughable,” noting in particular the mounting unemployment numbers (9.8 percent nationwide) despite the $787-billion stimulus plan enacted in February that he said was poorly designed.

In reference to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, “that’s probably one of the reasons why we’ve lost 3 million private-sector jobs since it became law,” Douglas Holtz-Eakin, former director of the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) from 2003 through 2005, wrote in an Oct. 14 letter to GOP leaders.

Hey Mr. President, Where's Limbaugh's Beer Summit?

TownHall.com
by Kevin McCullough

President Barack Obama, who has a tendency to stick himself into the middle of racially biased conflicts that are of essentially no importance, owes that courtesy to one that captured national headlines for nearly a week.

Al Sharpton...You're fired!

American Thinker
Lloyd Marcus

As a black Rush Limbaugh fan still fuming from the lynching of Rush for false charges of racism by the liberal media led by Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, I thought what can I do to end this tyranny of political correctness. For me, the Limbaugh Incident was "the straw that broke the camel's back" as my mom used to say. Then I thought, as a Christian should I go after Sharpton and Jackson?

Unions Pay Members $11 an Hour to Stage Rally Across from Anti-Socialism, Anti-ObamaCare Group (Bob McCarty Writes)

Dressed in blue jeans and wearing a large parka, ski cap and sun glasses, I spent almost 20 minutes early this afternoon mingling among approximately two-dozen people being paid, according to a union source not at the rally, $11 an hour by St. Louis-area union bosses to wave pre-printed signs in support of President Barack Obama’s so-called “health care reform plan.”

NFL double standard hypocrisy-
The same NFL commissioner that allows Michael Vick, a felon that killed over 70 dogs, and bet money on their agonizing deaths is allowed to play football again, but a white man smeared by blacks cannot be a part owner of a team? The NFL has become a game of high-priced thuggery, IMO. This bigotry is beyond comprehension. Obama the racial unifier is such a joke!

Sac Bee's news boss Melanie Sill admits blatant bias in editorial today:

"There's no dispute that The Bee has a liberal editorial page on most issues, though not all matters, and has mostly endorsed Democrats.

We won't change our editorial philosophy to placate critics."

There it is folks, the best reason yet to find other sources for your news and opinion. Instead of change, the Bee boss says fuc# you!

The Patriots were allowed to cheat, and the same commissioner just threw the evidence away rather than embarrass a popular coach. My question is, why would Limbaugh want to be a part of such a sleazy pastime? The NFL has become a game of thuggery? I think so, each year there are new rules to protect the quarterback, because players are not trying to sack the QB, they are trying to disable him forever!

So, Miz Sill admits the Suc Bee is liberal, which means the staff was not balanced, and they knew it. So they lost customers because of their biased reporting, gee, what a news flash. The Bee in fact, has to take part of the blame for CA becoming nearly bankrupt, as businesses and residents flee the state. The Bee continued to endorse liberal candidates that would not control their spending, and it has brought the state to their knees. I read today that CA has banned large TVs, and one has to wonder what controls they will place on their so-called free citizens next? The border wall we need is around CA, and keep the nutcases inside that state. Geez, I don’t want my tax money going to bailout a bunch of loons!

The SacBee is making a big mistake in ignoring centrists and conservatives in its staff-written editorials. I'm shocked at the editors disregard for her own readers. It's liking killing your young. They haven't learned a thing about modern media and its audience.

Anonymous said...

Sill seems to be one of those blinded, out-dated old liberals who are incapable of seeing validity in opposing views and intolerant of allowing opposing opinion on her pages. Her radical liberalism might even make Nancy Pelosi blush.

Anon 8:13 Great poat!!!

So the commie bitch crawled out from underneath of her, “It’s the darn economy” rock to get some air and admit the truth for once!

Who in the McClatchy organization demands that the Bee continue to be a far left product? Is it Gary, the board or the executive editor? And how does this advance the paper's business success?
If anything, the fringe left stance hurts the paper economically. This makes no sense and serves no positive purpose. Just an ignorant business practice that lives on.

It has got to be tough to run a business when a majority of your employees are hard core lefties that hate businesses and think "profit" is a dirty word. Kind of like building cars with employees that hate automobiles and all ride bicycles.

Well, at least their desire and goal to see McClatchy become a non profit entity is almost reality.

I wonder what these soon to be unemployed folks with those valuable journalism and English degrees are going to do to radicalize the fast food industry.

As the new CEO of a company was setting up his office, his predecessor happened by to get something he left behind. He told the new guy that he left 3 letters in the desk for who ever took his place.
"Don't open them now, you'll know when to open them."

Things went well for a while then the numbers started to slip. Time to open letter one.
It said to blame the guy before him.
Things picked up for a while then as the numbers started sliding he opened letter number two.
It said to hold a press conference and tell everyone that things will be re-organized and changes will be made.
Again things went well for a while then everything began to hit the fan.
The new CEO opened the last letter.
It said...

Write three more letters!

Time for Obama to write three more letters!!!

Derek Donovan explains the difference between news and opinion. Except he forgets to include the times when their Neighborhood News reporters wrote columns about what they were covering.

John Altevogt said...

Two pieces of bad news. First, it says that Donovan will return the 26th. Secondly, there is no wall between news and editorial except in the propaganda they feed the public.

I have had more than one reporter there tell me that what is written on the editorial page influences how their articles are edited. And if their piece isn't sufficiently oriented towards editorial policy it will be merged with someone else's writing that is. Look for articles on controversial subjects with more than one byline.

In addition, editors sometimes add in comments of their own into articles. I was chatting with one reporter about an article he allegedly wrote and asked him about a specific allegation he'd made in his article. He was puzzled and told me that he had made no such statement in his article. He then checked and discovered that an editor had made a blind allegation without asking anyone about the matter. To cover their ass, he had the reporter do a post hoc investigation to see if he was right.

The managing editor/executive editor of news should never be the boss of the Opinion page staff.
