This blog is mainly about the spectacular train wreck at The Sacramento Bee and its parent company, the McClatchy Company. But I also post about current events, the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, politics, anything else that grabs my attention. Take a look around this blog, hope you enjoy it.
Suzanne Malveaux Latest to Use Vulgar 'Teabagger' Label on CNN (NewsBusters)
On Monday’s Situation Room, Suzanne Malveaux became the latest CNN personality to use the offensive “teabagger” label to describe opponents of ObamaCare.
Malveaux asked senior political analyst Gloria Borger, “Do we expect to see the kinds of big rallies and...the circus atmosphere that we saw...over the summer when you were talking about controversial policy, ‘teabaggers’ and all that other thing?”
The CNN anchor and correspondent, serving a substitute for the vacationing Wolf Blitzer, questioned Borger about the upcoming battle over health care “reform” in the Senate, after a 60-39 vote over the weekend to begin debate over the Democrats’ bill. Her use of the vulgar term came 14 minutes into the 4 pm Eastern hour:
E-Mails Of Climate Researchers Buttress Case Of Warming Fraud (Investors.com)
Junk Science: Hacked e-mails from Britain's Climate Research Unit are only the latest evidence of climate fraud. Just ask NASA's James Hansen about the faking of climate data or EPA employees about the suppression of climate fact.
For years, noted scientists and other global warming skeptics have been accused of being on the take, their research tainted and funded by grants from Big Oil and other fossil-fuel interests.
Now, it turns out, it's the warm-mongers who are fudging the numbers and concealing the inconvenient truth.
We don't know who "Deep Throat" is. But according to an interview in Investigate Magazine's TGIF edition with Philip Jones, director of the Hadley Climate Research Unit at Britain's East Anglia University, the incriminating e-mails documenting collusion and fraud among top global warming scientists, including a few from Jones himself, are genuine.
In one e-mail sent to Michael Mann, director of Penn State University's Earth System Science Center, Raymond Bradley, a climatologist at the University of Massachusetts, and Malcolm Hughes, a professor of dendrochronology at the University of Arizona's Laboratory for Tree-Ring Research, Jones speaks of the "trick" of filling in gaps of data in order to hide evidence of temperature decline:
"I've just completed Mike's Nature trick of adding in the real temps to each series for the last 20 years (i.e., from 1981 onwards) and from 1961 for Keith's to hide the decline."
Hide the decline? "Keith" is Keith Briffa of the Climate Research Unit, also involved in the bogus manipulation of data.

BBC sat on Hacked CRU climate emails for a month! (BBC)
Very busy with forecast duties right now, but I do intend to write a blog regarding the UK Climate research centre (CRU) being hacked into, and the possible implications of this very serious affair.
I will add comment on this page as soon as I can free up some time. But I will in the meantime answer the question regarding the chain of e-mails which you have been commenting about on my blog, which can be seen here, and whether they are genuine or part of an elaborate hoax.
I was forwarded the chain of e-mails on the 12th October, which are comments from some of the worlds leading climate scientists written as a direct result of my article 'whatever happened to global warming'.
The e-mails released on the internet as a result of CRU being hacked into are identical to the ones I was forwarded and read at the time and so, as far as l can see, they are authentic.
If anyone has any doubt how deep the climate fraud goes, look no further than the BBC 'weather correspondent'.
He was sent the string of emails over a MONTH ago, and did not write a word about them.
ANY reporter worth a damn who came into possession of those incriminating emails would have asked questions, confronted the 'scientists' who wrote them, and reported his findings. That this reporter did not says everything.
The fact that he had them for a month before they were leaked elsewhere tells me that they were not 'hacked' but provided by an 'insider' whistleblower.
A hacker would not send them to the BBC first, but an insider who thought the BBC would honestly report the fraud would.
It was only after a month of nothing from the BBC did this person decide to go to the 'deniers' to get the truth out.
Women Most Affected by Climate Change (allafrica.com) How can women be most affected by a exposed fraud?
Women are the most affected by the effects of climate change, the latest United Nations Population report has revealed.
The 2009 State of the World report released in London yesterday said even though women bear the disproportionate burden of climate change, their plight has largely been overlooked especially in developing countries.
Some of the climate change effects include rising sea levels, droughts, melting glaciers and extreme weather conditions. Uganda has been particularly affected by drought.
"Poor women in poor countries are among the hardest hit by climate change, even though they contributed the least to it," said the United Nations Population Fund Executive Director, Ms Thoraya Ahmed Obaid.
"The poor are especially vulnerable to the effects of climate change, and the majority of the 1.5 billion people living on $1 a day or less are women," she added.
Network (TV) Shows Down In November Sweeps (Media Daily News)
Remember how big the November sweeps used to be? For viewers, the memory is becoming more distant.
On the last Thursday of the still-big November TV period, virtually every network show took it on the chin.
Similar ratings trends also took place earlier in the week.
Big shows -- such as ABC's "Grey's Anatomy," CBS' "CSI," NBC's "The Office" and Fox' "Fringe" -- all sank lower versus their respective results of a week before.
Some of this could be due to a NFL Network Thursday night game between the Miami Dolphins-Carolina Panthers. That network's Thursday games have been pulling in around 4 million viewers on average.
Looking at just the young at heart on this Thursday, CW's nice surprise this season, "Vampire Diaries," fell across all the demographics that matter to them. It earned a Nielsen 1.6/5 among 18-49 viewers versus a 1.9/5 the week before.
Its companion show "Supernatural" also moved lower to a 1.2/3, from a 1.3/3.
The only bit of comfort was from CBS' "The Mentalist," which improved some to a 3.7/11 among adult 18-49 viewers versus a 3.6/10 Bigger declines were seen with ABC's "Grey's Anatomy," which landed with a 5.1/13 -- down 9%. Its 10 p.m. companion show, "Private Practice," went south big time, dropping 21% to a 3.1/9.
NBC's "The Office" saw a season-low 3.7/10, down 12%. Fox's "Fringe" sank 9% to a 2.0/5. ABC's once high-flying "FlashForward" is now at a more humbling 2.4/7, off 8% from a week ago.
All this gave CBS a shrug-of-the-shoulders victory for the night among those key 18-49ers: at a 3.7/10.
Usual Thursday winner ABC was right behind, with a 3.5/10.
NBC and Fox were in a distant third-place tie at a 2.3/6 apiece.
CW scored a bit better than Univision, with a 1.5/4 among 18-49 viewers and a 1.7/5 for 18-34 viewers. Univision earned a 1.4/4 for 18-49 viewers and a 1.6/5 for 18-34.
The indelible whiteness of MSNBC (Michelle Malkin )
MSNBC host Chris Matthews, MSNBC reporter Norah O’Donnell, and MSNBC guest Joan Walsh shamelessly played the race card against Sarah Palin and her book-buying audience last week.
In Michigan, O’Donnell smugly noted that Palin’s fans were “largely white — almost no minorities in this crowd.”
Matthews parroted the line, assailing the “white crowd.” Walsh likened the gathering to a “paranoid tea party.” Matthews hammered away at the “monochromatic” scene.
Ahem. Check out the masthead of MSNBC TV, “The Place for Politics.” Wear sunglasses and SPF 30 lotion. You’ll need protection from the blinding white glare:
As I've written before, the ability of newspaper circulation departments and publishers to spin good news from bad by deftly manipulating dodgy circulation numbers knows no bounds.
And as things get ever more desperate in the newspaper business, the number cookers are getting ever more creative.
Witness this report from Michael Liedtke of the AP (oh, is he ever going to be unpopular with his wire service's members, and extra credit: that link goes to a Google News page!) about the latest example of creative accounting:
double-counting readers of electronic editions who also happen to pay for the print copy.
This turns out to be perfectly legal under the Audit Bureau of Circulations' conveniently flexible rules, even though it inflates circulation numbers.
If not for these rules, the industry's numbers would look even worse.
Average weekday circulation at 379 U.S. newspapers fell 10.6 percent during the six months ending in September. That was the steepest decline ever recorded by the Audit Bureau of Circulations, the organization that verifies how many people are paying to read publications.
Yikes. Liedtke isn't the first to raise questions about the quality and veracity of the latest circulation numbers.
The estimable Alan Mutter put up some red flags a few weeks ago, as well.
Publishers managed to make matters worse by taking unprecedented liberties with the way they tally the discount circulation that represents a significant percentage of the readership at many papers. ...
The consequence of the change in the discounting rule is that circulation figures are all over the map. …
The inconsistent circulation data is bound to not merely confound advertisers but also cut into the industry’s fragile credibility with them.
Of course, as Liedtke reports, nobody seems too upset that the numbers are getting less believable all the time.
The papers are just playing by the rules set by the ABC, which gets steadily more pliable to keep its publisher customers happy.
Nobody likes to hear bad news, after all. Or, in the case of newspaper circulation, really bad news.
It's not just print numbers that are getting fuzzy, either. Former WashingtonPost.com editor Jim Brady and others are tweeting up a storm tonight about murky online numbers, as well—which, as anybody who's ever worked with Web analytics knows, can be a black art—at best.
"There are just as many games played with pageviews and unique visitors as newspapers play with circ," Jim tweets, and then asks: "Interesting Q for us Web-heads off the news about paper circ shadiness: Are we making the same mistake blindly chasing unique visitors?"
Interesting Q indeed. Fudging the numbers may make internal constituencies happy (and make bonuses attainable), but they'll bite you in the long run. Advertisers can count, too.
And print newspapers already are paying the price for not delivering the results to advertisers they've long promised.
Online stats should be more reliable. As in so many other things, news sites would best be served by not lapsing into bad counting habits inherited from the print side.
It’s no secret that newspaper circulation is in long-term decline.
It’s also no secret, at least within the business, that newspaper auditing organizations have made a number of moves over the years to:
(a) more accurately reflect how many people are buying newspapers (their version); or
(b) cover the fact that the decline is continuing (a more commonsense view).
Today, on Twitter, a number of people are pointing to this AP story, Newspaper circulation may be worse than it looks. The lede:
While U.S. newspapers are losing subscribers at a staggering rate, a few dailies stand out because their circulation is rising. But they aren’t necessarily selling more copies.
Here’s why: Since April 1, new auditing rules have made it easier for newspapers to count a reader as a paying customer.
In the words of Dan Gillmor, in his tweet about the story: “newspapers still playing games with circulation numbers — more slippery than ever, in fact.”
How slippery?
While, for one thing, under the new ABC rules, newspapers can often count someone who has a bundled print-and-electronic-edition subscription as two subscribers, according to the AP report.
ABC is only one of the companies auditing circulation, and it doesn’t cover all newspapers.
Here in Canada, in fact, the numbers most often touted by our daily newspapers come from NADBank, a newspaper-industry organization. And NADBank tracks a different measurement — readership.
Newspapers here have largely abandoned their reliance on circulation in making their pitch to advertisers, putting their faith in readership — the numbers established by telephone and in-person polling — instead.
And the numbers that come out of that that they tout are not the stats for market penetration, or even the number of people who report reading a copy of the daily newspaper yesterday.
Instead, they trumpeted the number of people who read a copy of the daily newspaper at least once in the last seven days.
That means newspaper can claim a seven-day readership of more than 70 per cent of those polled, even though the number of those polled who read a copy yesterday may be below 50 per cent (as might be the figure for market penetration).
There’s nothing wrong, of course, with newspapers using whatever statistical means possible to get an accurate picture of how they are received in the community.
And it remains important, despite the body blows mass marketing has taken, that newspapers can sell a realistic picture of their mass market to advertisers.
But the key word is “accurate,” which hardly covers such things as double-counting subscribers who are eligible for both print and electronic version and other tricks, all in aid of trying to cover up the continuing decline.
Dobbs' staff must re-apply for jobs (The axe falls) (NY POST)
It’s not that “the axe has fallen”. It’s “CNN has an axe to grind” with Dobbs and those staffers are the fall guys.
The axe is starting to fall on the staff of more than 20 producers and reporters that Lou Dobbs left behind when he abruptly left CNN two weeks ago.
Late Friday, the CNNers were told that they could start applying for new jobs at the all-news network --with the clear implication that their old jobs were going to end shortly.
In his years at CNN, Dobbs amassed the largest single staff at the network, according to insiders, operating independently from the rest of the network in a closed-off area of the network's new headquarters in the Time Warner building on Columbus Circle.
Many of the long-time "Lou Dobbs Tonight" staffers, including on-air reporters Kitty Pilgrim and Bill Tucker, are facing unemployment unless they can find spots elsewhere on CNN.
John King, CNN's longtime political reporter, will be taking over Dobbs' hour -- 7 p.m. weeknights -- sometime in January.
CNN is moving the show's base from New York to Washington to accommodate him.
Katie Couric Uses Christmas Poem To Campaign For ObamaCare (NewsBusters)
The advocacy on display Monday by "CBS Evening News" anchor Katie Couric was almost unimaginable.
In her "Notebook" video posted at CBSNews.com, Couric read a poem fashioned after Clement Clarke Moore's classic "The Night Before Christmas."
Without any regard for hiding her position on healthcare reform legislation currently before Congress, Couric used the coming holidays as an excuse to wax poetic about her wish that Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) would "save Harry Reid's Christmas with a deal she brought forth" (video embedded below the fold with poem transcript,
Obamacare costs rise even before bill hits senate (Washington Examiner)
It is simply impossible to extend health-care benefits to an additional 32 million people without significantly increasing cost.
As we know, as government costs go up, taxes go up. The government has never shown any indication of trying to reduce it's own costs, as evidenced by the $4,700 pay raise congress has given itself this year, while the unemployment rate climbed from 7.2% in December 2008 to 10.2% in October.
In a report (available from Politico) issued by Richard Foster, chief actuary at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, shows the cost of Obamacare would increase from $11.6 billion in 2010to $146.4 billion in 2019, a 1,162%increase.
This does not include administrative costs which would cover 31 new federally funded agencies, programs, commissions and mandates at significant cost to the tax payer.
Obama at White House Today: "I never know what I'm allowed to do."
For those who believe that Barack Obama is little more than a puppet on a string, Obama gave them strong evidence today.
The AP reports Obama and his wife messed up protocol at a White House event by leaving early from a ceremony where he honored Zimbaweans with the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights award.
A flustered Obama returned shortly and quipped, "I never know what I'm allowed to do."
Newsweek Editor Admits: Health Care Bill a ‘Fiscal Fraud’ But ‘I’d Still Vote for It’ (NewsBusters)
Over the weekend, Newsweek assistant managing editor Evan Thomas offered an intriguing insight into the MSM’s approach to the liberal health care bill slowly rolling its way through the Democratic-controlled Congress.
After conservative columnist Charles Krauthammer accurately pointed out how the Senate bill only pretends to be “deficit-neutral” by front-loading the tax collection process while delaying the payouts, Thomas agreed:
“Charles is right. This bill is a fiscal fraud.”
But he quickly added:
“I’d still vote for it.”
NPR’s Nina Totenberg attempted to defend the Senate bill as one that “actually tries to do something about costs.”
But she, too, was insistent on the need for congressional passage: “I am not saying it’s ideal. But we have to start this. But if we don't get a health care bill this time, it is probably the last chance.”
BaltSun Names Indicted Mayor's Party Affiliation... In Last Paragraph of Story (NewsBusters)
Twelve days ago I noted how the Baltimore Sun failed to mention indicted Mayor Sheila Dixon's Democratic Party affiliation in a story about an embezzlement trial.
The mayor stands accused of misappropriating gift cards intended for poor Baltimoreans.
Instead of making sure the donated retail gift cards got into the hands of needy folks, Dixon is alleged to have used them for her own personal shopping spree.
Today, with the Dixon jury literally still out, the Sun's Annie Linskey and Julie Bykowicz did mention Dixon's Democratic Party affiliation, albeit in the very last sentence of their November 23 14-paragraph story published in the Metro section of the Washington Post*:
A Sex, Money And NBA Scandal That Would Be Headlines If The Party Started With An R (BillLawrenceOnline.Com)
The mid-June firing of AmeriCorps Inspector General Gerald Walpin led to the release of a report, Nov. 20, involving sex, money, politics and basketball that would be a major story on every dying newspaper and network if the players had happened to be Republican.
Walpin found financial shenanigans in AmeriCorps -- a federal public works program started by Bill Clinton-- and was fired by President Obama without regard to protocol.
Those doing the shenanigans were Democrats with close connections to Obama.
Obama's Nice Guy Act Gets Him Nowhere on the World Stage (Spiegel.de)
AP US President Barack Obama is back in the US after an Asian trip that produced few results.
When he entered office, US President Barack Obama promised to inject US foreign policy with a new tone of respect and diplomacy.
His recent trip to Asia, however, showed that it's not working. A shift to Bush-style bluntness may be coming.
There were only a few hours left before Air Force One was scheduled to depart for the flight home. US President Barack Obama trip through Asia had already seen him travel 24,000 kilometers, sit through a dozen state banquets, climb the Great Wall of China and shake hands with Korean children. It was high time to take stock of the trip.
Barack Obama looked tired on Thursday, as he stood in the Blue House in Seoul, the official residence of the South Korean president. He also seemed irritable and even slightly forlorn. The CNN cameras had already been set up. But then Obama decided not to play along, and not to answer the question he had already been asked several times on his trip: what did he plan to take home with him?
Instead, he simply said "thank you, guys," and disappeared.
David Axelrod, senior advisor to the president, fielded the journalists' questions in the hallway of the Blue House instead, telling them that the public's expectations had been "too high."
The mood in Obama's foreign policy team is tense following an extended Asia trip that produced no palpable results.
The "first Pacific president," as Obama called himself, came as a friend and returned as a stranger. The Asians smiled but made no concessions.
The Chinese figured this guy out pretty quick. Back last summer, ozero’s treasury failure, timmy, went to China to reassure them of the strength of our ecomony. They laughed at him.
By laughing/disrespecting timmy, they were doing the same to barry the boy king.
Obama breaks promises regarding Freedom of Information Act (The Washington Examiner)
After seven months of stonewalling their FOIA requests, Don Loos and the National Right To Work Legal Defense Foundation have been forced file a complaint with the U.S. District Court demanding the Department of Labor be compelled to give them the information they seek.
So much for Obama's promise to run the the most open and transparent administration in history.
On Obama's first day in office, the Department of Justice issued the following memorandum regarding FOIA requests:
The President directed that FOIA “should be administered with a clear presumption: In the face of doubt, openness prevails.”
Moreover, the President instructed agencies that information should not be withheld merely because “public officials might be embarrassed by disclosure, because errors and failures might be revealed, or because of speculative or abstract fears.”
Wave of Debt Payments Facing US Government (Interest alone= $700 Billion/yr) CNBC
The United States government is financing its more than trillion-dollar-a-year borrowing with IOU’s on terms that seem too good to be true.
But that happy situation, aided by ultra low interest rates, may not last much longer.
Treasury officials now face a trifecta of headaches: a mountain of new debt, a balloon of short-term borrowings that come due in the months ahead, and interest rates that are sure to climb back to normal as soon as the Federal Reserve decides that the emergency has passed.
Even as Treasury officials are racing to lock in today’s low rates by exchanging short-term borrowings for long-term bonds, the government faces a payment shock similar to those that sent legions of overstretched homeowners into default on their mortgages.
With the national debt now topping $12 trillion, the White House estimates that the government’s tab for servicing the debt will exceed $700 billion a year in 2019, up from $202 billion this year, even if annual budget deficits shrink drastically.
Other forecasters say the figure could be much higher.
In Germany, the high price of going green (50% "Eco-Tax") (washingtonpost.com)
GELSENKIRCHEN, GERMANY -- In this nation that embraced one of the world's most aggressive campaigns against global warming, the Pokropp family can almost hear the cha-ching when switching off their lights.
A kilowatt of electricity costs three times as much here as it does in the United States, supercharged with high taxes to discourage use and to help fund renewable energy development.
Meanwhile, a 50 percent "eco-tax" has sent the price of gasoline soaring to $8 a gallon.
ACORN dumps documents; Breitbart has them and will release (Retreived from Dumpster!!) The American Thinker
Following the release by Breitbart's Big Government website of a video showing employees at ACORN's San Diego County office offering to assist in the transportation and exploitation of underage prostitutes from abroad, the Attorney General of California announced an investigation into ACORN's operations.
Nights before the visit, ACORN dumped thousands of documents in a dumpster. Breitbart obtained them, says they are shocking evidence of ACORN's illegality and promises to release them bit by bit over time:
Documents shared with BigGovernment.com include information exposing not only the inner workings of ACORN in California, but also personal, sensitive information belonging to employees, members and clients of ACORN.
ACORN and its few remaining defenders insist that the "good" ACORN provides outweighs the transgressions exposed in the recent undercover video sting.
But, ACORN's massive dumping of these documents and the cavalier manner in which it betrayed the trust of its supporters betrays that talking point. (Unlike ACORN, we have redacted sensitive and personal information.)
ACORN's political agenda is also exposed, with thousands upon thousands of documents revealing the depth of the political machine that is ACORN, and its disturbing ties to not only public employee labor unions but some of the most radical leftist organizations.
The laws governing how sensitive, personal information such as social security numbers, driver's license numbers, immigration records, tax returns, etc. must be treated are very stringent, and thus it seems as if ACORN may have committed serious violations in that department alone, with thousands upon thousands of potential plaintiffs.
Media’s “Noble” immigrants who “only want to do the jobs Americans won’t do” flooding our prisons (The Collins Report)
The truth is out. Illegal immigrants commit crimes at a much higher rate than Americans and legal immigrants.
A new Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) report nails it. It proves the lies and smashes the myths of the “noble” illegal immigrant who only wants to “do the jobs Americans won’t do.”
Using Freedom of Information Act requests to access otherwise embargoed government data on immigrant crime, the CIS establishes the fact that illegals commit “relatively high rates of crime.”
The phony “academics” that’ve made careers of lying about the destructive impact of illegal aliens on our society are proved wrong.
CIS found: The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) believes America’s prison population’s include 20% legal and illegal immigrants.
DHS reviewed over 8 million inmate records from the prison systems of 45 large counties around the country and found that 22% of their inmates were foreign born.
This is an over representation of 42% given the estimates that 15.4% of American adults are immigrants.

The illegal alien incarceration problem seems to be worse in California than the rest of America. Pew polling corp. reports 25% of the Golden State’s prisoners are illegal aliens.
Oakland is the 3rd highest crime City in the US, according to new ranking (Camden, St. Louis. 1&2) (SFGate.com) Democrat cities are Number #1 again!
Bad news for Oakland today. CQ Press has released their annual City crime rankings, and Oakland is even closer to the top of the list than usual.
The rankings are based on the incidence of murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, and vehicle theft in all US cities with more than 75,000 residents.
Out of 393 cities considered, Oakland clocked in as the 3rd most crime ridden, topped only by Camden, NJ and St. Louis, MO.
Other (Democrat strong holds)cities joining Oakland in the top 10 include Detroit, MI, Flint, MI, New Orleans, LA, Birmingham, AL, Cleveland, OH, Jackson, MS and Memphis, TN.
Obama Says to Be Patient on Economy(What would have happened if he had said this in 2008 campaign?) NewsMax
President Barack Obama on Saturday urged Americans to show patience over the economy and argued that his just-concluded Asia trip was critical for U.S. exports, countering criticism he had returned empty-handed.
With unemployment at a generation high of 10.2 percent and once-lofty popularity ratings down, Obama said a December White House forum will leave no stone unturned in the hunt for jobs.
"Even though it will take time, I can promise you this: we are moving in the right direction; that the steps we are taking are helping," Obama said in his weekly address, amid signs that the public is getting impatient for results.
A Gallup poll on Friday showed Obama's job approval rating had dropped to 49 percent, the first time he has fallen below 50 percent in this survey, as Americans express dissatisfaction with his handling of the economy and other issues.
Obama's remarks on the economy were his first in public since returning to Washington after an 8-day Asian tour where critics said he had failed to win significant concessions on trade or currency manipulation from partners like China.
Barack Obama to host first state dinner in huge tent (Telegraph UK)
Barack Obama to host first state dinner in huge tent A huge tent has been pitched on the White House lawn to accommodate 400 guests at Barack Obama's first state dinner.
An invitation to the event on Tuesday evening has become the most sought-after ticket in the US.
The event, in honour of the visiting Indian prime minister, Manmohan Singh, is a chance for Mr Obama and his wife Michelle to welcome the Washington elite - and a smattering of Hollywood celebrities - into their new home.
Whereas President George W. Bush would hold his 140-person dinners in the formal state dining room, the Obamas have broken with recent tradition by taking a "big tent" approach that will accommodate 400.
Secrecy surrounds the event with the White House jealously guarding details of the guest list and menu, though produce from Mrs Obama's new vegetable garden is expected to be used and curry is suspected by some to be on the menu for the first time.
Deepak Chopra, the billionaire pioneer in New Age spirituality, announced on Twitter that he would be flying to Washington to attend and was "V honored to be invited".
Oprah Winfrey, the talk show hostess, is strongly rumoured to have been invited and there is speculation that George Clooney and Brad Pitt will attend what has been dubbed "Washington's equivalent of the Oscars".
According to the well-connected Hollywood blogger Nikki Finke, the former DreamWorks partners Steven Spielberg, David Geffen, and Jeffrey Katzenberg will be at the dinner.

======================
Someone needs to advise Investors.com that they haven't read far enough into the doc just yet.
James Hansen is one of the group of conspirators named in at least one of the emails from Kevin Trenberth discussing the problem with not being able to account for current trends that actually show cooling rather than warming. In the letter he is clearly soliciting assistance in doctoring the true data announcing that the real data was clearly wrong.
James Hansen is neck deep in this fraud and Kevin Trenberth seems to have taken control over the cover up. He was actually interviewed yesterday by the AP as an outside third party looking in, when he is by name working in conjunction with the Director of CPU to prevent any data other than their own from being presented to the UN.

The only bit of comfort was from CBS' "The Mentalist," which improved some to a 3.7/11 among adult 18-49 viewers versus a 3.6/10
Bigger declines were seen with ABC's "Grey's Anatomy," which landed with a 5.1/13 -- down 9%. Its 10 p.m. companion show, "Private Practice," went south big time, dropping 21% to a 3.1/9.
Still Cooking the Books (Recovering Journalist)
The games newspapers play (tamark.com)

Support For Obamacare Falls to New Low (GatewayPundit)
The support for the democrat’s nationalized health care plan fell to a new low this weekend.
Rasmussen reported: Just 38% of voters now favor the health care plan proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats.
That’s the lowest level of support measured for the plan in nearly two dozen tracking polls conducted since June.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 56% now oppose the plan.
But it doesn’t matter.
Democrats will still ram their socialist health care plan down America’s throat.

Junk Science: Hacked e-mails from Britain's Climate Research Unit are only the latest evidence of climate fraud. Just ask NASA's James Hansen about the faking of climate data or EPA employees about the suppression of climate fact.
======================
