Hey, he ignored the military's advice on the surge, why should you be surprized if he ignores McCrystal's plan to win in Afghanistan?

Uncle Jimbo says our worst fears about Obama as Commander in Chief are coming true:

He has already had the advice of his entire military chain of command with a near unanimous call for for reinforcements to move to the strategy that won in Iraq. We have watched as he has heard from the deep wisdom of Joe Biden and Rahm Emanuel. We have seen him dither and quibble and show a completely ineffectual and uncommitted face to our enemies and the rest of the world. Now months after his hand-picked commander has told him the situation is bad and getting worse, our troops in the field fight and die without the support of their Commander in Chief. He sent 21,000 more brave men and women there and now they are flappin' in the breeze. How can a squad leader look his men in the eyes and tell them to saddle up and head out on a patrol, perhaps to be the last to die for a cause their President no longer believes in?

You can't set the circumstances for victory before you commit to trying to win one. You can't set your strategy based on the hope that quality government will just spring up in the midst of chaos with no security...

Obama voted against the surge, and even after it was obvious to everyone else the surge had succeeded he stubbornly refused to admit Petraeus was right -- even saying he would still vote against the surge if he had to do it again. Should you be surprised if Obama blows off McCrystal's plan for success?

God, I hope he does. Blood squandered in the dust.

We lost in Afghanistan years ago when we invaded Iraq. Now, we're just the new Soviets.

Obama rejects all current troop options on Afghanistan (Hot Air)

Alternate headline: “Obama votes present.”

President Barack Obama does not plan to accept any of the Afghanistan war options presented by his national security team, pushing instead for revisions to clarify how and when U.S. troops would turn over responsibility to the Afghan government, a senior administration official said Wednesday.

That push follows strong reservations about a possible troop buildup expressed by the U.S. ambassador in Afghanistan, Karl Eikenberry, according to a second top administration official.

He should just come out and say it.

"I am not looking for a winning strategy, but one that lets me look like I'm fighting the war, while at the same time pacifying my left wing. Ideally, I'd like a withdrawl option, the necessity for which I can credibly blame George Bush."

I fear some in the military are still assuming he wants a strategy to defeat the Taliban, when in fact his goal is to legitimize them.

Apparently none of the options including the phrase “apologize and slink out”.

Gelding-in-Chief pee's himself again at the thought of having to make a real decision.

On the other hand, the little president man has had his media working overtime with the Vietnam meme.

His Newsweek did it this week and there were editorials today in the LA Times and I think it was the Boston Globe. Somebody’s coordinating that.

Today the little president man himself invoked how shamefully Vietnam vet people were treated.

My guess is the little president man just wants a historical backdrop against which he can be seen making a Momentous Decision.

I found a typo in your headline. Perhaps you should hire a laid-off copy editor.

Will Obama establish trigger points with Healthcare reform that if not met would result in our retreat from a failing policy?

I didn't think so.

He has been dithering for months and this is his decision???
Maybe they didn't tell him that you have to make real decisions when you are the President and not a community organizer?
How do you think a strategy conceived in the mind of Joe Biden is going to work in the real world? Not only is this Obama's war, it's his plan. He owns it.
History will damn him for his performance.

Obama is just another ultra-liberal wimp who is wimping out on yet another major issue. He's an embarrassment to our country and world leaders can't respect this joke of a president.

I'm with George Will: Get the troops out now.

Palin-Karzai in 2012!

Maybe by 2012, poor Obama will have made a decision.
