There is someone at the Sac Bee in charge of "Audience Development"? Bet his performance review is outstanding.
What do you suppose audience development does? Chase away readers. I thought this was Melanie's job.
Nice post as for me. I'd like to read something more concerning this matter.
BTW look at the design I've made myself Russian escort
FYI: The lady who used to have that position quit in disgust. When the cutbacks in Circ happened she was left trying to do the job of four people, working crazy long hours for no pay. She was promised all sorts of help but got none. She said the job was an absolute nightmare.
Might as well fill it with a temp service, the Bee ain't going to be developing any audience with its current newsroom bosses. What they need is new leadership and new ideas, yet they stubbornly resist making the big, smart changes.
I could see why an audience development job at the Bee would be a nightmare for a conscientious person.God bless her. Quality in decline, circulation support in a mess, Melanie determined to white knuckle her way all the way to the end, no wonder it was a mission destined for failure.
Give Rex Babin the job. He doesn't work now. He's just a moronic mouth piece with his grade school stick and circle (political??) cartoons.
Babin has a purpose - DNC puppet.
Who quit?
Your right on the money 5:49. The senior VP that this position reports to has been at the Bee for 7 years and managed to do nothing more then watch the circulation drop, give leadership classes and promote a backstabbing way of doing things.
