The Idaho Statesman is seeking a Systems Administrator to provide installation, maintenance, and monitoring of the Windows domains in the Data Center for production systems. This position will be responsible for troubleshooting of basic to moderate systems issues; testing, repairing, and backing up network servers; troubleshooting of basic application system problems; and assisting in the installation of new systems. This position will also be responsible for supporting and assisting the Idaho Statesman help desk as needed. This position offers a competitive salary and benefit package, and a career opportunity in a promote-from-within workplace.

Requirements:

Successful candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other related field, MCP, MCSA Certification 4 or more years IT experience, a thorough understanding of Mac and PC hardware, two (2) or more years experience with network infrastructures and working familiarity with LANs and WANs, intermediate/advanced experience with MAC OS 9.x and greater, and outstanding customer service skills with demonstrated ability to deal with a variety of people Candidates should be service oriented with excellent communication skills for understanding technical problems and clearly explaining solutions.

8:05 was there an announcement or an email from the publisher? Did the paper publish anything about the layoffs?

There actually been layoffs recently at all of Mcclatchy's NW papers. This site used to be great for news about Mcclatchy,where people could exchange great info, but now it's just a far right wing thing.
