Student claims high school teacher made degrading comments about Muslims at a Jacksonville-area school, CAIR summoned

Here is a news item that is getting familiar. A Muslim high school student claims her teacher told students that all Muslims are terrorists waging war against Americans and Christians.

The student's father, Mohammed Shadid, said the family asked the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) to deal with the incident and only wants to make sure it never happens again. He said he doesn't want the teacher fired, but believes he should be required to take a religious sensitivity class.

Saman Quraeshi, community director for CAIR in Jacksonville, said the group is meeting with school officials next week.

This should be a simple investigation - get a statement from the teacher, a statement from the Muslim student, and get statements from the other students who were there. Simple. Unfortunately the school district blundered by letting CAIR to get involved.

Now that CAIR is involved, we know how this is going to turn out. There will be press conferences, apologies, hand-wringing, district-wide sensitivity training. And there will be future incidents that will offend Muslim students, which will lead to more press conferences and calls for even more sensitivity training.
