US General: Iraqi army grew by 55,000 soldiers in 2007

Army Lt. Gen. James M. Dubik told the House Armed Services Committee Friday about some amazing progress that has been made in turning over security responsibility to the Iraqis. Jim Garamone gives some perspective on the difficulty of building an army during a time of war. Still, Dubik said Iraqi officials told him they cannot take full responsibility for internal security in their country until as late as 2012.

Texas Fred calls General Dubik a "loser", evidently because Dubik didn't bash Bush during his testimony.
