From Reuters news come this photo of a woman in the Sunni neighborhood of Arab Jabour asking a US Army soldier for medical help for her child on October 21. The soldier is identified as Lieutenant Charles Staab with Alpha Company, 1st Ballation 30th Infantry Regiment. Yahoo news link here.
Can I ask why McClatchy doesn't cover what our troops are doing in Iraq? Right now on McClatchy's Iraq web page is an article on Blackwater.
McClatchy really has no excuse. A quick internet search of news services will give you news accounts of developments in Iraq. There are photographs of the Iraq war widely available to anyone with a computer search engine. (I found the photo and story above by searching Yahoo Photos for a few short minutes.) And are there any good reasons McClatchy couldn't utilize other wire services (UPI, Reuters, CNN) for Iraq news?
What is the point of having a Baghdad bureau, if you can't inform your readers what the troops are doing?
