Kidnapped sheiks freed

This looks like good news: A group of Sunni and Shiite sheiks who had been kidnapped were freed Monday. Here is the AP report. The tribal leaders were allied against Al Qaeda and had been returning home from a meeting in Baghdad Sunday when they were kidpapped. Reportedly, the meeting involvled discussions with the Iraqi government on using tribal leaders to fight Al Qaeda. One of the sheiks was murdered but the rest of the group were apparently unharmed.

McClatchy's Iraq web site is still running the same snarky story about Chalabi from yesterday. (What's the point of having a Baghdad bureau if you can't inform readers what is going on in Iraq?)

UPDATE 1:10 PM: CBS story here. McClatchy still hasn't updated their Chalabi article from yesterday.

2nd UPDATE 7:40 PM: McClatchy still hasn't updated their Iraq web page. (Something is wrong with these people!) Dan Riehl thinks this is a sign we are weeding out the extremists in Baghdad.
