Yesterday President Bush presented the Medal of Honor to the parents of Lt. Michael Murphy, who was killed in Afghanistan. Lt. Murphy is the first armed forces member to be awarded the Medal of Honor for combat in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Pictured above are Lt. Murphy's parents, Daniel and Maureen Murphy, during the ceremony. Both parents wept as they stood next to the President and heard accounts of his heroism recounted. Here is the AP story. McClatchy, true to form, has nothing on Lt. Michael Murphy on its main web page or the Iraq web page. Is it too much for McClatchy to tell readers about what the troops are accomplishing?
