Ernie Pyle honors an American hero: "The Death of Captain Waskow"

One of Ernie Pyle's most famous columns was an account of the affection an infantry company felt for it's leader, young Capt. Henry Waskow. Waskow had been killed during a battle in Italy and his body had been brought down a mountain on the back of a mule. You can read the column here:
