Army Corps of Engineers looking to complete projects in Iraq


According to the Multi-Force - Iraq press desk, the US Army Corps of Engineers is hoping to complete more than a dozen projects before the end of the year. The above photo shows a pedestrian bridge being constructed in Dhi Qar Province. Among the projects being eyed for completion before year’s end are three primary healthcare centers in Dhi Qar province. These facilities will provide essential medical services to Iraqis each day and also will employ many local Iraqis. Other projects include a new convoy support center and accompanying dining facility at a cost of $24.1 million; two electrical feeders; the first phase of the Nasiriyah Prison; a pump generator in Nasiriyah; a road project; a bridge project; and, the rehabilitation of the Nasiriyah Maternity and Pediatric Hospital.
