Sacramento Bee outsourcing ad work to India

Somehow I missed this earlier this month:

The Sacramento Bee is outsourcing some of its advertising production work to India. The newspaper plans to eliminate half its artist jobs by next summer and give the business to Express KCS, a San Jose company with offices in New Delhi and nearby Gurgaon.

In August, McClatchy outsourced circulation customer service to an Illinois company that also operates out of the Philippines.

Editor's Weblog says a wave of outsourcing will begin in 2008 in the newspaper industry.
