Congratulations to Lara Jakes Jordan for finally getting it right. Her story on the indictment of Congressman Rick Renzi identified his party not just in the lede but it was the First Word in the story.
That has never happened before in my memory. Good job. Outstanding.
In fact, just the other day, AP waited until the 11th paragraph of an 11-paragraph story to identify the party of a candidate who was convicted.
And what a far cry from that 29-paragraph story Lara Jakes Jordan wrote about the indictment of Congressman William Jefferson on June 4, 2007.
She never identified his party.
This blog is mainly about the spectacular train wreck at The Sacramento Bee and its parent company, the McClatchy Company. But I also post about current events, the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, politics, anything else that grabs my attention. Take a look around this blog, hope you enjoy it.
