"Name that Party" at the Sacramento Bee

OK, time for “Name that Party.” Section A in today’s Bee ran articles about three politicians involved in controversy: the Berkeley mayor involved in trying to oust a Marine recruiting center, the Toledo mayor who barred the Marines from conducting a planned exercise in Toledo, and, the US Senator who was disciplined for a citation involving lewd conduct in a men’s room.

Only one of these articles listed the party affiliation of the politician involved in controversy. Can you guess which one?

(Of course you can; you know exactly where this is going.)

Berkeley mayor Tom Bates is a Democrat but the Bee didn't tell you that. Toledo mayor Carty Finkbeiner is a Democrat, but the Bee didn't tell you that. Larry, Craig, the US Senator disciplined for lewd conduct, is a Republican. And the Bee made sure to identify his party affiliation.
