This blog is mainly about the spectacular train wreck at The Sacramento Bee and its parent company, the McClatchy Company. But I also post about current events, the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, politics, anything else that grabs my attention. Take a look around this blog, hope you enjoy it.

On patrol in Mosul
Some of the most compelling photos of the Iraq war can be found on the amazing DVIDS (Digital Video and Imagery Distribution System) website. Many of the photos (and videos) accompany stories that tell what US troops are doing in Iraq, Afganistan, Kuwait, and elsewhere. The photos can be downloaded in high resolution once you register. Registration is free. The below photo was uploaded to the DVIDS web site Sunday.
The photo shows a soldier from 3rd Platoon, Heavy Company, 3rd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment from Fort Hood, Texas, searching the bed of a dump truck looking for threats to his platoon while patrolling through Mosul on February 21.
