Heading to the rodeo

I'm headed to the Folsom Pro Rodeo tonite. The Folsom Rodeo is one of the most entertaining shows anywhere. Steer roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing, bull riding, bareback riding. Mutton busters. And of course rodeo clowns. There is usually a great fireworks show when the rodeo ends, but I've heard that has been cancelled because of the fires in this part of the state.

You would like the crowd. People who come to rodeos are simple, unpretentious, patriotic. There will be lots of cowboy hats and boots, and alot of men who chew. Maybe even some women. I bet we'll hear Lee Greenwood's "Proud to be an American" at some point tonite.

We're bringing along a family friend from England... it will be a definite culture shock for her.
