New McCain ad strikes a chord - 1.1 million YouTube hits and counting

The new John McCain "Celebrity" ad is creating a stir across the political world. And if viewership is a sign the ad is resonating, the McCain camp is thrilled because more than 1.1 million people had viewed the ad on YouTube as of Thursday night. Here is the ad:

The reaction from the left wing is predictable. The paranoids at Huffington Post think it has a subliminal assassination message. (I am not joking, you have to read the HuffPo piece to believe it.) Barack Obama called it a "predictable political attack" but didn't give specific objections. NBC said the ad is "personal and demeaning." (Really? How so?) The Obama Booster Club at McClatchy says McCain is trying to demonize Obama. Even Al Jazeera is complaining about the ad.

The complaints have no substance. Which tells you the lefties are upset because the ad hits a nerve.

The McCain campaign had the perfect comeback for the whiners.
“Like most celebrities, [Mr. Obama] reacts to fair criticism with a mix of fussiness and hysteria,” a spokesman said.
