Nosedive: McClatchy hits another 52-week low
McClatchy (MNI) shares hit another 52-week low in trading on Monday. The above chart shows the drop in McClatchy shares over the past year.
I believe you will eventually see the newspaper industry lobby to congress and the senate for a financial subsidy (bailout) on the grounds that the United States newspaper industry is an established American institution that is providing constitutional muscle to preserve the freedoms and rights of it's citizens. So, I believe as long as there is a United States under a constitution of freedoms, there will always be newspapers, no matter how small or infrequently published they may be in the future.
