At the N&O the entire auto sales team put in for the packages. They dont have a clue! In fact it seems that they will let them all go. That leaves the department with only 4 reps all online sales people. So much for the business loyalty and the those relationships that have kept car dealers advertising with the N&O.
Sandy Fain the clueless "niche" director of classifieds says she cant understand why we need reps for different divisions. They will be moving to make all reps responsible for territories. Her boss Gary Smith whose only goal is to save internet has single handedly destroyed classified. So guess what?
Now you can look forward to retail reps selling auto dealers, real estate, carpet cleaners and the wonderful Living in Style (Dieing in style more like it) and the other MUST have ill fated magazines.
Well the KC Star had to hire temps after outsourcing some of their creative work to India. The current creative team is working 12 hour days plus weekend and still can't keep up the the amount of ads that need to. be process. They already outsourced their security staff, and now the carpenters are mowing the lawns after the person that did that took the June buyout.
The ones that take the buyout were the SMART ones. They got a nice payout and insurance for a year. The ones left get to worry about what is coming next. They will be there until temps are brought in to replace them and they will. The buyout people go on with the lives and start a new chapter some place....a fun and enjoyable place. A place where people are appreciated and can once again laugh. So yep, the ones that stay will still plug along wanting to make the most money they can while we're having fun again without McClatchy. Surprise Surprise there is a life and a good one when you leave.
