Observation of the day

Over at Confederate Yankee, Bob Owens notes: "We now know far more about Sarah Palin in just four days than we've learned about Barack Obama in 17 months. That is just sad. It's a pathetic reflection of the mainstream media's unwillingness to do their jobs for fear of finding stories that would hurt the candidate so many of them openly desire to win." What is sad and pathetic is how Anchorage Daily News has been absent on this story. I hear McClatchy had to send in reenforcements because the Alaska paper wasn't up to dealing with the demand for Palin stories. Insiders tell me things in Anchorage were so bad they didn't have any state contacts on Palin, partlyh because the Anchorage paper's staff has been feuding with the governor

That is typical journalistic damage control. You can fool some of the people all of the time...
