This blog is mainly about the spectacular train wreck at The Sacramento Bee and its parent company, the McClatchy Company. But I also post about current events, the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, politics, anything else that grabs my attention. Take a look around this blog, hope you enjoy it.

The News Tribune says goodbye to five newsroom employees
I have a hard time feeling sorry for any newsroom jobs given the fact that most lead or "A" section content in todays papers are from the wire or other newspapers and the local sections are mostly drivel with advertising thrown in. Most newsrooms are so top heavy now that only the trimming of the rest of paper lead to some much needed pruning. If your not writing anything ever, then why are you working in the newsroom. Your many years of experience only serve to allow you to use your biased opinion in to how the paper is put together. Most of the upper level newsroom folks I know never write anything for the paper and cringe at the idea that they should have to. I don't understand why you would not want to.....
