More on the new and improved Modesto Bee -- Update: per comments, more late deliveries on Wednesday

More word about late deliveries. From comments:
DAY TWO...The several people I know who still subscribe said the same thing...late deliveries...after 7:00...crappy print quality (the ones I saw on the stand look awful)...McClatchy strives to rise to the top of the mediocrity pile and is succeeding "beyond their customer's expectations". I could only hope that Mark Vasche reads this blog.
And complaints about photos:
ALL the color pages with out exception were WAY out of register especially the yellow. Some by as much as 1/4 inch! Looks like they had problems with balancing the black ink. Some were washed out (ink emulsified) others were too heavy and set off. Emanuel Medical center ad looked like the doctor in the photo had a liver problem...way too yellow.

If you have more news/feedback about the Modesto Bee, leave in comments.

Late again today...My carrier, who I haven't seen in along time, had to wait 2 1/2 hours before recieving her papers from Sactown. When the Bee was printed in Motown, all deadlines were on time 99%.What is going to happen when the weather gets bad? Maybe I can get it delivered by 8:00am,then I can scan through it at dinner time. The "color"(whoopee) comics are in different sections. Now I understand Vashce's comments about "more color through out", with the ink saturation its transferring from page to page. Lots of color but hard to read the stories. We'll see after a week, although Sactown has been printing their own paper I guess the Motown Bee is a bigger challenge.

Just wait until the weekend pre-runs with one mailroom inserting for two different newspapers.

That will be fun if you're an insert advertiser.

The color problems won't improve in the new and downgraded Modesto Bee because Sac Operations is unable to invest in the proper remedies to convert color profiling between a flexo and cold web offset press.

We ALL are trying to get over it. Trouble is when I want to read a paper it is the M.Bee, Oakdale Leader, Escalon Times, or USA Today.
Like Oct1 11:45, I'm out, but I'm not down...just like to see what The M.Bee is trying to do. It will be interesting to see Mark Vasche's next damage control Sunday installment. You can put whipped cream and a marshmallow on it, but it is still a cow pie!
