From the Modesto Bee corrections department (updated)

This tidbit was posted on the Modesto Bee's web site today:

Because of a production error, readers of The Modesto Bee on Sunday received a page from The Sacramento Bee in the Local News section.

The Sacramento page inadvertently appeared on Page B-2 of The Modesto Bee. Because of the error, readers were unable to read the continuations of three stories that appeared on Page B-1.

Those stories will be reprinted in their entirety in Monday's newspaper

From comments:

Last week the Kansas City Star, this week they're doing it in California... This doesn't happen accidentally people.

Well done McClatchy. What a loser you are. We'll see what the stock market has to say about you on Monday.

I'm not a pressman but hey don't they look at folios when their setting color and registration. I would think that would also be one of their checks?

When we printed the Modesto Bee the FIRST THING was to check folios to make sure the date and page numbers were correct. The Operator took he layout sheet and checked the ads to make sure they were on the right pages and color ads were in color etc.
Do they have a bunch of Barney Fifes running around in the press room? Give 'em a bullet and they shoot themselves in the foot!

It keeps getting better and better!
Hey Mark (Vashe)...WE TOLD YOU SO!!!

Everybody sing..."Look what they done to my song ma. Look what they done to my song..."

While it's easy to blame the last person to touch the page negative; there should be several checking steps, done by several people along the production chain. Last person to plate-up gets the blame, but the production process failed at several check steps, for mis-plates to occur

Perhaps, expeienced people deemed unnecessary for production control were eliminated?.

There be more of these errors, but it's all about the revenue now. So advertisers and readers concerns will be lower than the stock price.

Like i said before that the press men in sac just do not care. just a bunch of dopers and drinkers. McClatchy gave up the best grope of pressmen for dopers and drinkers and this is what you get way to go

5:24 your an idiot! The best "grope"? Sounds like maybe your groping yourself instead of facing facts! The dopers and drinkers exist everywhere including Modesto. We have never had anyone scratch their initials on the front page, have you? Get over it loser! You morons were not real pressman anyway, a monkey could set color on flexo so don't act like you have any skills. I'm sure your nothing but a reeltender!!!!!
