The Tri-City Herald has property for sale. It includes a small office building, which contains apartments used by interns (which got axed this year) and the employee fitness center.
Inside sources say as soon as Modesto Bee sells it's press, the building will go up for sale. They had 3 bidders but all backed out.

Funny how the Fort Worth paper sold their parking lot, but the few spots remained when to the Publisher who has the highest salary.
What does it tell you when the most expensive property of McClatchy is for sale?
If they really want to sell these properties, they need to advertise them on Craigslist.
RE: The sale of the Observer. The article appeared in the business section on 9/5/08. In it Ann Caulkins, publisher, said they are evaluating the site for potential sale. They should know by the end of the year. The property consists of the building and 9 acres surrounding it. At one time Donald Trump was interested in property uptown. If he's still got the money, I'm sure he could get a great deal! I've asked but haven't heard any updated info.
as before so sad it has come to this for the ST.....as i've said before amon carter is prob turning over in his grave as we speak....only it he were here today.....
