This blog is mainly about the spectacular train wreck at The Sacramento Bee and its parent company, the McClatchy Company. But I also post about current events, the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, politics, anything else that grabs my attention. Take a look around this blog, hope you enjoy it.

Continuing the Check of Lokeman’s circulation stats: Cedar Rapids-Marion Gazette
Checking the Gazette, I could not find any recent articles by Lokeman. Unless a better researcher than I can find something, we may have to scratch another paper off the list? -64,762 is a BIG scratch off.
Checking the Archives, I found seven articles the most recent date being March 2007? And, it was the only article in 07, the rest were older.

What an absolute waste of a human being was Howard Weaver. A pretentious bully who had the audacity to boast about his degree while scraping the mud off his boots. He will not be missed. Second to Pruitt, I blame Weaver for missing opportunities and failing to see where this industry was going. Not an idiot savant, but a savant idiot.
Etaoin Shrdlu lies in state, long live whoever. ‘Pain & Promises at McClatchy’- At lease part of the pain has been relieved. Howard probably made it over that burning bridge, he sold off his MNI stock early.
Who could forget Howard ‘splaining’ things on his blog? Anonymous said... 10% layoff 3 days after announcing the creation of a new VP position? I wonder how many positions you have to cut to offset a VP's salary/bonus/options...
Howard said... Steve Bernard, the new VP/Advertising, is coming on board to increase revenues. He will pay for his salary by hundreds, perhaps thousands of times. You ought to be celebrating that announcement. ------------------ Maybe we could sell Howard that bridge to nowhere?

Howard Weaver resigned
Ya hardly need a VP of News when your content is AP edits and Aditorials.

Sad but "The Bridge to Nowhere" will be full of out of work McClatchy former employees.
