Blood on the floor at the Arizona Republic
Staff at the Arizona Republic are telling Jim Hopkins their hours are being cut from 40 per week to 20, and benefits eliminated. It's a take-it-or-leave-it proposition, effective Monday. Click here for details. . .

Just this week we were discussing that newspaper employees need to get all the information they can find from every source. I wonder where our little Gannett person is tonight, not in AZ I hope, if this bad news is true. --------------------- From Gannett blog:

The Arizona Republic was to Cindy McCain, what the Anchorage Daily News was to Sarah Palin. The character assassinations waged on these two women by two leftist papers was so evident. The AZZ Pubic wrote page after page on Cindy McCain’s pain pill abdication of years ago, but nothing on Obama’s crack habit. It is such a shame the media decided their candidate could not win in a fair election, so they resorted to lies and yellow journalism. This crap is rotten, I don’t care if Gannett goes broke.
Gannett bought up small local papers to spread their leftist garbage into every community. Now those once successful local papers are being sucked into the red ink hole with the rest of the scum. So they die, they should have stood up for the truth, they could have resisted, but greed got in the way. Now we are supposed to save them to lie another day?
I seem to remember the Azz writing about how exploited the illegal Mexican workers were, low wages, no health insurance, blah, blah, blah. Has it not occurred even to liberal journalists how screwed over they are by the Democrats? 20hour week, no health insurance, blah, blah, blah!
When private businesses needs to layoff employees or make changes to survive, the unions piss and moan, the media trumpets capitalist failures, but when liberals try to survive, it is what? Throwing people out of work is what? The liberal Pruitt’s of the world making millions while robbing you, is what? Outsourcing liberal newspaper jobs is what? Illegal immigrants taking your jobs is what? Oh wait, didn’t we read this would happen in the liberal newspapers, the watchdogs of what?
