Call it a “Recession Plan” or whatever you want, it still means job cuts. VIPs seems to think a sugarcoating will soften the blow of losing your job, and perhaps profession. Petrified dinosaurs!
I can’t wait to hear what Pruitt calls his massacre.

“It takes a delicate touch to make job cuts sound more palatable.”

"It's not like 'rightsizing,'" It is a "Recession Plan"

We're calling it the recession plan internally to [encourage not only understanding] of it by the employees, but for their interactive participation,"

Archer05 - sounds like a Dilbert cartoon.

By calling it a "Recession Plan" they try to draw attention away from their mismanagement, and try and make it an economy thing. I'm not buying it. Greed did this, and dinosaur jerks.

Pruitt's massacre? The McClatchy rumor mill is on fire, and the employees are walking on eggshells.

So, Rightsizing, Downsizing, Recession Plan, are all layoff terms. For Pruitt, the term should be Nitwittery Plan.

Here is a newsroom blast from the past:

You Tube: -1981 primitive Internet report on KRON-TV-

In 1981, KRON-TV reported on an experiment that allowed users to get a San Francisco newspaper on their home computers. It offers a good look at newsroom technology 28years ago.

"...we’re not in it for the money...”-(You got that right!)

Rumors in at least one MNI paper that something huge is going to happen next week across the chain. Furloughs? Layoffs? A combination?

30 day moving average stock price at $1.00 exactly.
Deck chairs seem to be sliding about, must rearrange them. Overheard something about needing mops on one of the decks below to clean up some water. Deck chairs sliding again! What gives?
