Too bad those buyout employees didn't read the discussion about bouncing checks right here on McClatchy Watch. They would have cashed those checks the MINUTE they received them. We gave them the buyout/bankruptcy information, but they were still reading the old media, and that might cost them big time. The fools that fault any information outside McClatchy’s own propaganda, deserve what they get.

Archer05 - You got it: trusting the mainstream media can have dire consequences.

This snip may explain the reason some of the employees did not cash their check at once, they were still hedging their bets, but it looks to me as if ‘all has gone to hell’ already.

“If all goes completely to hell, skunked Strib workers could retain the option to rescind their buyouts; I think there's a two-week reconsideration period that would expire Jan. 23. But fewer buyouts could make more workers subject to layoffs.’

That's what they get for believing anything printed on paper by McClathy.

It's not a McClatchy newspaper. Are you losers so intent on bashing this company that you don't realize that? You may be the worst former journalist ever...congratulations!!!

Good point there 3:14. Don't trust anything printed on paper by any newspaper, not just McClatchy. Thanks for pointing that out.

But we already knew that.

The topic heading says ‘former’ McClatchy newspaper. Former is the operative word, but the Strib is typical of all newspapers' future. Buyout problems were discussed here several days ahead of this article. That is the lesson here, you are trying to seize on certain words, but it won't change the facts.

The information from the Tribune, Strib or any company's buyouts could be used by McClatchy employees. You missed the point, this information might help someone make a very important decision. Someone with an open mind that is. Discussing a problem is not bashing, it is perhaps more likely something you don't want to hear.

It does not matter which newspaper is being discussed, if employees are waiting for their company to save them, good luck. Instead of pissing and moaning, you should be reading every word you can find about your future.
