This blog is mainly about the spectacular train wreck at The Sacramento Bee and its parent company, the McClatchy Company. But I also post about current events, the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, politics, anything else that grabs my attention. Take a look around this blog, hope you enjoy it.

At Termination Date: Dodging the Pink Slip Club in the Star-Ledger Mailroom
-Buyout-Depleted ‘Star-Ledger’ Reassigns Two Journos — To Mailroom- By Joe Strupp

Pink Slip Club: Even a Pulitzer can’t guarantee a reporting job
Status Quo...photogs become reporters, reporters-editors, editors-photogs, copy editors-janitors, janitors-vice president of H.R., H.R.-finance...Shake the cup, Roll the dice and pick your job...What's left of 'em anyway.
In an interview on "NPR" this morning,"Iconic Journalist Nat Hentoff Is Laid Off," Hentoff evidently referred to the closing of McClatchy's Washington Bureau. NPR removed the comment from the podcast and published a correction after receiving a question in the comment section after the story.
I have a very close friend, who graduated from Harvard. Worked for ML for over 8 years, last year he’s laid off too. OMG, now the banking industry is badly hurt, how long it would take for those financial background like him get back to the job market. Banking jobs are not there as much as before as easily seen on http://www.joboutlets.com and other job sites in the region
