OMG....Puke!

It's the 1960's all over again there. A left winger's wet dream, with some Che and Fidel, pseudo Power to the People, with a chaser of burn your union card mixed in.

Now I know what that bi-polar chick that comes on this blog and says how she loathes herself for having to force herself to respond to anyone here.

I am never going to that site again! In fact, I need to go delouse.

Conflicted? I read the comments, and those members weighing in seem to fall overwhelmingly into the "no" pool. nice headline, mcclatchy watch

Conflicted huh? It is about time. I remember when this very crop of individuals stood by and watched with compete contempt while their peers with skills and dirty aprons were summarily dispatched.

They could have helped and saved hundreds of jobs, but their J-School smugness had trained them right. They were far to important to soil their position by walking out and standing with mere pressmen, mailers, operators, printers, stereotypers, artist and carriers. They didn't even have the nuts to include all employees in their negotiations, something they could have done just by saying so. What did they do, they threw them under the bus just to delay their own demise.

But now, all of a sudden they are conflicted. I'm sorry as hell, but my heart bleed for predecessors and those who will suffer at their hands once again. It's all bled out.

LOL Bipolar. From what I understand she's really a decent person who would probably get just as upset with anyone saying an unkind word toward another no matter what the circumstance. "Mary Poppins" was the term used.

I know she didn't demonstrate it, and there were no condemnations for the Obamabots and Goose Steppers, but that is the word I got from a closet conservative at the Star.

I’m sure she’s a decent gal, and she writes very well. Further, I should never have called her bi-polar and have no idea why I did it.

I’m gracing you with my presence
(Oh I just loathe myself)
Your mean for not thinking of others
(Oh I just loathe myself)
How can you say that
(Oh I just loathe myself)
I’m never coming back here again
(Oh I just loathe myself)
Ok, I’m back but just onc more time

BRAVO 11:04.

No one in Sac Bee Editorial gave a rats ass when the Customer Service jobs where sent to the Philippines or when the Circulation Department was completely eviscerated. We have always been looked down on from Management and other in house Departments.

Welcome to our nightmare.

Don't sweat it. I know why you did it. It was the first thing that went through my mind when I read her post. That is why I asked about her.

All of you who stated that the editorial employees don't care about the departments at The Bee are right on. They are a pretty self-absorbed, self-righteous group of people. Smug, i think someone said. It's a whole different matter not they will lose their precious jobs. Trust me, they look down on everyone. This is one group of people that is not deserving of sympathy for having their jobs threatened.

The editorial boys will soon get theirs. For now let them stay in thier comic book world where the Daily Planet rules and Perry White still holds court, and Superman flies outside the window.

The Sac Bee guild HAS to accept the company proposal to buy time. Even if they say yes the Bee will layoff more of them before the end of the year. It's just a matter of the survivors getting a dozen or so more paychecks before the end. The guild became extinct years ago, they just don't know it yet.

When Gary Pruitt cuts his $6.5 million salary and fires a few of his many $1 million assistants, then I'll consider cutting my meager wage.

Not until then.

Why hasn't Gary Blewit bothered to respond publicly? Clearly he has no shame. One can only assume the 1.8 million dollar bonus he got for "navigating" the KN deal is safely tucked away in some Swiss bank account. He no doubt wanted to go down in history as creating a media empire. Now he'll be known forever as the boy blunder who managed to sink two previously viable & venerable news organziations with one stroke of the pen. Yes, the economy is bad and yes, ad revenues are down. But MC could have weathered the storm if it were not for the billions in debt Blewit accrued in the KN purchase. I can't stand any more to hear how this was "unforseen". He gets paid 4 million a year to "forsee". I wish the MC folks would at least fess up to the fact that it's the phenomenal debt, courtesy of Mr. Blewit, that is truly the biggest factor in the current crisis.

That’s right Ed, use censorship to make your point. Don’t your members deserve to hear everything? Or is what you have to say the only important thing? That’s what I mean about what unions have become. You should go back through and delete all the comments that don’t agree with you and then celebrate by burning a few books.

It’s good your looking out for your members and I’m sure that the folks in SanFran are equally looking out for you!"

"Twenty years ago, (I think) members of this unit crossed another units picket line that has caused years of bad blood. I spoke with some of them last year and appologized, but there is nothing more I can do. I was in high school at that time."

He was in high school, but others were not, and they did a whole lot more than just cross the picket line. They actively helped management destroy their "brothers". They photographed them and participated actively in the injunctions to bring down the picket lines. They wrote stories and ignored the truth....just like today, and they laughed. They thought it was funny and believed that they were untouchable.

Go down like the scab bastards you are. Throw others under the bus to delay your inevitable demise. After all you're so special.

I am riveted by this whole matter, as a former McClatchy editorial type. It's amazing how McClatchy management, even down to their editors, turn a blind eye to what's obviously going on, develop a story (car dealerships are closing! It's all their fault!) and just keep repeating it like a mantra. They don't even use basic reporting skills on their own situation. I can tell ya, it was damn strange to work there and listen to my own immediate supervisors do this Blewitt worship. I don't get it! And neither do they!

There's been a lot of posts here and on other blogs about the smugness - that's the word that keeps coming up - about Sacbee newsroom employees. Right on! Oh, you have no idea!
