Cartoon of the day

Cartoon by Michael Ramirez

Here's how McClatchy's David Lightman describes the bloated "stimulus package": "... the House of Representatives passed an $819 billion economic stimulus package designed to create millions of jobs quickly and give consumers more money to spend..."

Yeah, right. Lightman can always be counted on to give readers the Obama spin without the kind of scrutiny that was applied to Obama's predecessor.

(A couple of questions for Lightman: Exactly how does $335 million in STD prevention stimulate the economy? And what about the $4.19 billion for "neighborhood stabilization activities"? Skeptics say the Dem's voter registration group, ACORN, could get millions of dollars to expand partisan activities. How does that stimulate the economy or "create millions of jobs quickly"? And don't get me started on the $83 billion in earned income tax credits for people who don't pay taxes -- the Dems call those "tax cuts" even though the target group doesn't pay federal taxes.)

Mark Steyn nails it:
The rules in this new “post-partisan” era are pretty simple: If the Democratic Party wants it, it’s “stimulus.” If the Republican Party opposes it, it’s “politics” – as in headlines like this: “Obama Urges GOP To Keep Politics To A Minimum On Stimulus.”

George Soros has decided to place Barry’s internet database back into action. Ya know, the one of just little Mom & Pop peeps, making $2 donations. Anyhoo, they are now going to send millions of e-mails to our “selected” so-called elected officials to get the stimulus package passed. You know, the public speaks, and we listen reflux.

Ok Marxist, just like bias, tell us how this article is a big lie?

CRICKETS.

Something to think about when you’re in the unemployment office next week.

Yesterday the political pundits were discussing the plan of the Democrats to time the bulk of the individual reward of the stimulus payout, to arrive just ahead of the 2010 elections. The proletariat will return the status quo. They will be so grateful, so dependent upon their Democratic controlled congress for their largess. Now that I see the fraud of the last election, I absolutely believe they would do that. What I once thought were ridiculous conspiracy theories, are now what I know to be more than possible.

Mark Steyn could be the template for being a successful online writer. He is always entertaining, but he makes his points clear. I just can’t stay with writers that blather. The elite media experts like to say the print media is failing because the rabble are becoming nearly illiterate. Not wanting to read bullshit, and not being able to read bullshit is entirely two different things. Someone needs to explain that to these so-called elitist, bullshit artists.

John Hinderaker at Power Line finds a BO upside:
“Thee good thing about electing a Democrat as President is that, as he nominates fellow Democrats to senior positions in the Executive Branch, millions of dollars in unpaid tax liabilities come to light and are belatedly paid to the IRS, with interest. It is, perhaps, the most tangible advantage of electing Democrats to office.”
