This blog is mainly about the spectacular train wreck at The Sacramento Bee and its parent company, the McClatchy Company. But I also post about current events, the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, politics, anything else that grabs my attention. Take a look around this blog, hope you enjoy it.

McClatchy freezes pensions, announces plans for cutbacks
Comment: “BUT......THE "BIGGIES" STILL GET TAKEN CARE OF......5 out of 10 highest paid CEO's in the Sacramento area were from the McClatchy newspaper.
Gary Pruitt earned (you've got to be kidding) $4.6 million last year; Whitaker $1.1 million; Weil $1 million; Dickerson $1 million; Talamantes $938k.”
(Weaver left, but his salary was up there also.) http://tinyurl.com/akbumn
USA Today Former Star columnist Lokeman accused of DUI A former Kansas City Star columnist who is married to the newspaper’s publisher faces a March court date for allegedly driving under the influence. A Kansas City police officer stopped Rhonda C. Lokeman, 50, about 10:15 p.m. Jan. 1
I read some of the comments at the Sac Bee. There seems to be a lot of resentment by unionized state workers, many complaints of liberal bias, mostly negative comments. About ten pages of strong opinions.
