Feedback coming in on Myrtle Beach Sun News outsourcing printng

Looks like some Myrtle Beach Sun News subscribers aren't buying the corporate line about outsourcing printing being a good thing.
"... You're firing our local press guys, then shipping your paper to be printed by the Post and Courier in Charleston. And THAT is going to give you MORE control over your paper's quality and deadlines than when you printed it under your own roof??? Thanks for taking our local jobs and shipping them elsewhere then telling us it's a good thing. You have lost all credibility in this community ... especially with the 58 people you've just kicked out the door."

Oh, why listen now when it's too late.

Live by Uncle Karl, die by Uncle Karl Marx.

Same song, different paper...Modesto,Oregon etc. I feel for you bros. Been there had that done to me. Just remember to read carefully your unemployment hanbook and see if your state has a time limit on requesting retraining...THERE ARE NO MORE NEWS PAPER PRESS JOBS OUT THERE! Best of luck! P.S. Take the buy out money in a lump sum. If McClatchy goes under you may not see any $$$

I'm one of the soon to be Ex employees. 2 weeks ago we were told that we were the most cost effective packaging dept in all the McClatchy papers. Now we are gone. I guess being the best don't count for nothing anymore. Gary Pruitt is ruining the newspaper industry. But I guess he'll get another couple million dollar bonus again anyway. I cant wait to see their stock hit about a nickle. You see Pruitt is dumping all his stock really fast. I hope it was real expensive when he bought it.
