Photo of the day

This photo shows William Randolph Hearst's admonition to his staff from 1938.

I'm betting Hearst would never have gone for his company publishing something like McClatchy's Obama Book. By publishing the Obama Book, McClatchy violated two of the first four Hearst standards. (Hat tip: Jeff Jarvis)

I'm surprised that directive wasn't erased or burned from the corporate archives.

where's your proof that the Obama book is propaganda?

What? Are you some sort of idiot? Oh, I get it. Obama has to say, my book is propaganda. That would be proof that his propaganda is propaganda.

You idiot. Don't you ever come in here claiming to be intelligent again! In fact, don't even claim you have a functioning brain cell. Were you leading the NYU takeover or are you running a McClatchy paper?

Yes, William Randolph Hearst, that beacon of journalistic impartiality.

Hearst was one of the *inventors* of yellow journalism. You realize that, right?
