Look at the way the media is responding to the human tragedy in Kentucky and surrounding states compared to Katrina and you know all you need to know about modern journalism.

Obama sits in the White House with the thermostat cranked up to 80 degrees feeding his buddies $100/lb steaks while people are freezing.

Those white trash hicks are clinging to their guns and their bibles because their fingers are frozen to them.

If I read one more article that lists these things the press must do, but the liberal press DOES NOT make the slightest attempt to do, I am going to throw out the Weaver word. I am warning everyone, I am sick and tired of this ridiculous drivel that means nothing, absolutely nothing.

Excerpt:
“…above all, we must teach them that a journalist's first [obligation is to tell the truth.] That our first [loyalty is to the citizens], or readers. That journalism's essence is a discipline of the [verification of fact.] These are among the other nine principles..."

Anonymous 5:47 -- You're right of course... if Bush was president the MSM would have reporters in Kentucky documenting Bush's failure to manage the crisis.

I don’t expect the mealy-mouthed press to fault Barry Soetoro (aka) Barack Obama for living high on the hog while people suffer. Barry is a transparent being, Casper-esque so to speak. We can see right through him, but the press will not take an honest look, they still call smoke and mirrors qualifications.

Speaking of Barry Soetoro (aka) Barack Obama, and smoke.

A Google Images search
-Barack Obama smoking- is sickening.

Geez, how did these pics miss the attention of the press? 'The One' doesn't look so regal to me.

Is there an image of Obama eating dogs? He sure liked to eat dogs in Indonesia.

The truth is, a lot of people don't want to deal with an inky broadsheet. Plus, most of the stuff in it, is boring, and I have no reason to read it. On the internet, you can choose your subjects, not what a bunch of staff people dream up to fill space.

This author is another dream weaver. He is correct in that there is no good reason to buy one newspaper, when you can read dozens.

Kentucky is a 'Red' state, right?
Liberal BO couldn't care less about these people. I hope he enjoys his black tie party.

Anon 5:47 - what a moron. If your view of the world is so narrow that you think everyone in KY is a white trash hick then you have no hope of ever seeing the truth in anything. God help you.

Anon 7:34 PM
I think you missed the point,
Anon 5:47 is saying that is what BO thinks of KY people. He said as much about PA people while in the arms of the freaks in San Fran. That is how I read that anyway.

Anon 5:47
I understood what you meant, and I agree. Barry is a "Let them eat cake" man.

How many thousand people have died in Kentucky?

7:34 you must be stupid enough to be in management.

I used to like comming here to read about mcclatchy related news. I also liked readng comments from employees whom care enough to write something meaningfull even if in anger.

What i am read here is liken to a WOW forum with a bunch of kids.

Whomever created this blog i salute you for doing it but it has become something that is pact full of ignorance. I know all this trash is whats driving your hits but .. folks like me will not be returning.

“.. folks like me will not be returning.”

What could that mean, “folks like me?” Nutcases, Kool-aid drinkers, liberal leftists, Marxists? It boggles the mind. If you think you have the right to dictate the discussion, then you probably don’t belong on this blog. Man, you deserve to go down the drain with McClatchy. This is not just about you, it is about what the dishonest media has done to all of us. Go take a class, get into another field, or whatever. Buh-bye, don’t let the virtual door hit you on your virtual @ss on the way out.

Another schmooze, instead of telling young would-be journalists the cold hard facts about their futures. Perhaps a little talk with some disillusioned, out-of-work professionals, would change his tune. Probably not, it is much easier to extend the lie as long as possible, maybe as long as next month, even.

How come, if this guy and others preach telling the truth to journos, the print media is still full of lies?

I'll tell you why. Because advertising and editorial disguised as news pays 7 to 10 times the normal advertising rate AND because "Journalists" have discovered that they can collect a check on the side by writing articles slanted to the particular viewpoint of any number of special interests and phony foundations. Combine that with desk journalists who's only purpose is to copy and paste mass produced press releases and you have a formula for an easy days work for the bargain price of your professions credibility.
All these papers have to do in order to save the majority of their personnel budget, is to do away with their editorial sections. They don't need them anymore. Their news contains more editorial than their columnists can crank out on any given day and it would cut out their little free lancing scheme.
