The Bellingham Herald has meeting w/ employees at 3pm today. And I understand the cuts could be "big."
UPDATE: look for a major hit to newsroom, marketing, IT, advertising.
UPDATE #2: I'm sorry to report this blog is being attacked by a Spammer today. Info here. One day last week this guy posted 50 spam comments in a 24 hour period, and it looks like he's doing it again today. So bear with me today, folks. In the meantime, please email me if you have tips or info, thanks for your patience.
UPDATE #3: Comments will be moderated by me before publication, due to the Spammer disrupting the comments section. Sorry for the inconvenience, folks. And yes, the Spammer will be outed in due course. (Background info on this nutcase here.)

Is MNI going to do this across the board today? Does anyone know?
each paper's OC board has submitted a plan tailored to it's papers specific "magic number" ... definitely not across the board.

It won't be company-wide today... the Sacramento Guild votes on management's proposal later this week.
"And I said, I don't care if they lay me off either, because I told, I told Bill that if they move my desk one more time,
then, then I'm, I'm quitting, I'm going to quit. And, and I told Don too, because they've moved my desk four times already
this year, and I used to be over by the window, and I could see the squirrels, and they were married, but then, they
switched from the Swingline to the Boston stapler, but I kept my Swingline stapler because it didn't bind up as much,
and I kept the staples for the Swingline stapler and it's not okay because if they take my stapler then I'll set the building on fire…"
Any word on layoffs at the KC Star?
10:29 AM Hilarious, brought a tear of laughter to my eye.
You won't hear anything out of the Star until someone escapes. All Bits and Bytes are being searched before leaving the building.
Nothing in Raleigh until the end of the month. But we were told it was going to be the biggest cuts yet. One manager said it will be the "worse, worse case scenario".
10:29 - Classic LMAO stuff. Gotta rent that one again.
Best quote ever.
Bellingham's Marketing Dept is composed of 1.5 people. IT is 2 people.
Spam will be deleted.
The wizard behind the curtain has been revealed.
It is about time to report that one to blogger.
if that's true, it's still a 66% and a 50% reduction in staff right?
From time to time this blog gets attacked by a spammer. Looks like today is one of those days. The spammer comes here to disrupt the blog. I've blogged about him before: info on his location and obsessive habits here. Info on his mental instability here. (One day last week he posted 50 spam comments in a 24 hour period.)
He sent me a profanity-laced email which I might publish later. He prances around the comments section leaving spam comments and trying to promote some blog which evidently nobody reads, and which evidently has malware. So bear with me as I deal with this nutcase.
Ano 10:29 In light of what's going on, you make me laugh.
However, if this is for real, are you that Bi-polar chick who tells us a couple times a day that she LOATHES herself?
publish! publish! publish! publish!
