Erica Smith looking to start a McClatchy blog? (updated)

Last night I found Newspapertrails 1.0 -- the one that was abandoned. Saw this comment:

It's a shame this project has been forced to come to an end. If anyone is interested in continuing this project, please e-mail me: erica [at] graphicdesignr [dot] net
Maybe we'll hear an announcement soon from Erica. If so, welcome to McClatchy blogging, Erica; there's room for more than one blog about McClatchy.

UPDATE: Erica Smith responds, agrees there's room for 2 McClatchy blogs but she's
busy with her other projects right now.

She already has a blog, much bigger in scope, about the newspaper industry as a whole.

I'm the married (to a man) NOW member who reads McClatchy Watch. Thanks for practicing true diversity of thought and opinion here. Even though there are many comments here I don't like, working for McClatchy wore me out for listening to "civil and professional" PC ideology. I decided I preferred to above-board anger to the sanctimonious back-stabbing practiced at McClatchy. And I think there are more when I came from.
I'm glad there will be another blog, and another batch of kool-aid brewing.

Hey, Kevin, how are things at your church? Does your pastor read your blog?

i would love a blog where i could bitch about work. and compare notes with other papers on how things are done. that would be nice. cause some things around here leave a lot to be desired.

I really wish you'd not be so defensive. I never intended to insinuate that you, yourself was a lesbian. How about an apprehensive truce?

1:03 PM: Sure. Truce.

Didn't mean to sound defensive, because I'm not. I just want the people who write off McClatchy Watch posters as "rightwing nutjobs" to know that some of us over here are moderate in life and in politics, or even lean left.

We just think newspapers should represent their regions fairly and squarely.

(And I do wear an apron.)

Good deal. As a traditional American, proud of his country (until recently), who considers Socialism a capital offense and government handouts to buy votes a crime against humanity, I couldn't ask for more.

My hands are more than full just keeping track of layoffs on Paper Cuts, but I think there's plenty of room for two McClatchy blogs. (Or two Lee blogs. Or two Gannett blogs. Or two Cox blogs. Or two Morris blogs. Or ... the list is almost endless.) Also, for what it's worth, I don't work for a McClatchy paper; I'm part of the Lee family. (So seriously, any Lee blogs would be great.) And, honestly, it sounds like there were some shinanigans regarding the other McClatchy blog and the events that led to its demise.
