This blog is mainly about the spectacular train wreck at The Sacramento Bee and its parent company, the McClatchy Company. But I also post about current events, the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, politics, anything else that grabs my attention. Take a look around this blog, hope you enjoy it.
Lexington was supposed to have meeting with Guild this morning at 11:30 and has no postponed it until Monday, showing little to know sensitivity to the heightened anxiety that already exists.
Its a known fact local TV stations go pull the morning edition out of the box to see who they are going to cover today.
No, it is however a known fact that newspapers pull the NY Times to find their marching orders for tomorrow. Just because newspapers do that, don't think for a minute TV stations do.
Anon 131: I'm confused. Just looking over today's N&O and I'm trying to figure out which stories they got their marching orders from the NYT about. Was it:
—the 1A story about conservatives and home-school groups rallying against a local judge who ordered a woman's kids out of home school and into public schools? Those opposed to the judge wanted to draw attention to their cause, and it came first from The N&O and not the local TV stations.
—the 1A story about the Democratically controlled state government refusing to take action again an assisted-living facility months before a patient there walked away and apparently died?
—the 1B story about the employees at a state home for the severely disabled who are being investigated in a patient's death? The N&O has written many, many stories about deplorable conditions in the state's hospitals, particularly its mental facilities. This has brought much shame on the state's (Democratically controlled) leadership. And TV barely touched this story ... and when it did it was months behind The N&O
All those stories are clearly inspired by the paper's Marxist/Leninist/Trotskyite/ChiCom agenda, dictated by the Sanhedrin, George Soros and the Trilateral Commission. Top editors receive their transmission via tin foil headgear.
Hey 2:19: Why are you here? What could possibly be your purpose for being on this earth? You would be a better fit on Fred Phelps' blog. I'm sure he could use a new recruit.
12:50 PM: Having worked at both newspapers and TV stations, I can attest that TV stations do pull a lot of their non-cops-and-robbers stories from the newspaper. But newspapers get a lot of tips on breaking news from the TV stations. It's a symbiotic relationship.
When John and Rick start talking about paid content, anyone else picture a kid's lemonade stand -- you know, the ones you help your kids put 25 man hours and $20 into only to see them THRILLED by the $8.75 they come with at the end of the day?

If a paid site is there answer, then just pull the plug now. They don't have any content worth paying for. They just don't get it.
He's defiantly a man in complete denial. But then, almost everyone in the business is.
Yeah. You guys are right. I'm going to go in and quit today!
Thanks, McClatchy Watch!
No wait! Don't do that. Stick around as long as you can and then have no job available when your turn comes...and it is coming.
In the words of Gen. Anthony McAuliffe: nuts.
I'm going to fight on and win. We'll see who laughs last.
Cowards.

The same News and Observer that judged and convicted the Duke Male Lacross team because they were white?
Good riddance to them.

That's a given sweetheart.

I would pay to read writing by people who know the difference between 'their' and 'there.'
You would be a better fit on Fred Phelps' blog.

You're not a very bright fellow. Fred Phelps is a democrat.
And Al Gore was a member of Phelp's church.
Maybe that's how Al Gore got crazy or vice versa.
