Pipeline from Havana: more Cuban government propaganda makes its way to the Miami Herald's web site

Yesterday I told you the Miami Herald had published a "news item" taken word for word from ACN, one of the Cuban government's "official" news agencies.

Henry Gomez has done some digging and found more. Check out these gems from ACN posted on the Miami Herald's web site:

There's your "Truth to Power" people at McClatchy, publishing propaganda straight from the communist government of Cuba. Great work!

UPDATE: The Herald has deleted the ACN articles from its web site.

It seems when a real reporter does his job, the MSM’s faux news reporting become apparent yet again. Someone, please refresh me why we should keep these dinosaur liars afloat. I wonder if just simple honesty is one of the ‘NEW’ business models for the MSM’s survival?

Howard Weaver and Gene Miller are/would be embarrassed beyond words! To think of the Miami Herald in its glory days is to shudder, and to mourn.
Shut this thing down rather than have us watch it writhe in death throes on the ground, gasping for air and belching toxic fumes.
RIP, Herald. You were once a great asset to the American conversation. Edna Buchanan, Jim McGee, Dave Lawrence - among the leaders you birthed.
Just pull the plug so we can mourn in peace, and with dignity.

Well, I guess my argument that this was just an oversight, a mistake, just someone throwing it up without checking is blown all to shit. What other kind of bullshit excuse can I use to cover our tracks comrades?

You right wingers better not reply either. I'll kick your anonymous asses because I used to be a copy editor.

Leonard Pitts Jr. is one big reason the Herald stinks.

I used to think some of you MNI idiots had redeeming qualities.

Despite more than enough means, my boycott of print media, movies, and books, sans libraries goes on unabated.

Anything I can do to hasten your bankruptcy will be a pleasure.

What are you going to do now? I think McD is hiring burger quality control editors. I did hear they make you do your job with integrity though, watch out for that little pitfall.

Any stories on the 200+ prisons and the forced labor camps ? How about the over 100,000 prisoners whose only crimes were to be perceived to be anti-communist ?

Oops...Sorry. I guess that is not news.

Cuando llegue la luna llena
iré a Santiago de Cuba,
iré a Santiago,
en un coche de agua negra.
Iré a Santiago.
Cantarán los techos de palmera.
Iré a Santiago.
Cuando la palma quiere ser cigüeña,
iré a Santiago.
Y cuando quiere ser medusa el plátano,
Iré a Santiago
con la rubia cabeza de Fonseca.
Iré a Santiago.
Y con la rosa de Romeo y Julieta
iré a Santiago.
Mar de papel y plata de monedas
Iré a Santiago.
¡Oh Cuba! ¡Oh ritmo de semillas secas!
Iré a Santiago.
¡Oh cintura caliente y gota de madera!
Iré a Santiago.
¡Arpa de troncos vivos, caimán, flor de tabaco!
Iré a Santiago.
Siempre dije que yo iría a Santiago
en un coche de agua negra.
Iré a Santiago.
Brisa y alcohol en las ruedas,
iré a Santiago.
Mi coral en la tiniebla,
iré a Santiago.
El mar ahogado en la arena,
iré a Santiago,
calor blanco, fruta muerta,
iré a Santiago.
¡Oh bovino frescor de cañavera!
¡Oh Cuba! ¡Oh curva de suspiro y barro!
Iré a Santiago.

Leonard Pitts is so bitter, he can’t write straight, IMO.

Pipeline? Sewer line seems more apt to me.

A friend of mine from Miami, who is of Cuban descent, asked me to join a boycott to remove Danny Glover from a TV ad. I had no real knowledge about Glover being a Castro devotee. I do know my friend was greatly exercised against Communism. In the end, Glover was removed from the ad, and I do think the main complaints came from the Cuban/American population.

I would love to hear Howard’s take on the sorry state of the Miami Herald. I think he left MNI because he bumped heads with Pruitt on basic principals. Unless Howard has been spouting garbage all these years, he knows that biased reporting is one of the reasons the MSM is going down. He knows!
