After 23 years, the Fresno Bee's Teen Press Corps is disbanded, and the BackTalk page will no longer be published. Editor responsible for the page is among the latest layoffs:
BTW......our latest "subscription special cost" to the public is 1/3 LESS for a one year sub than the current required employee subscription rate paid by our payroll deduction.
Don't live within delivery distance, doesn't matter...give it to some other person who does or donate it to the newspaper in school program, you have to pay for one subscription to work here.....at the EMPLOYEE inflated rate!

The BND in Illinois will announce their decisions on Monday.
The Charlotte and Raleigh newspapers will announce their layoffs this coming week. Many merged operations and layoffs. Expect a bloodbath.

Charlotte won't announce until the 23rd at the earliest, not sure about Raleigh. Some say they will announce sooner, others say they won't.
Ricks Cabaret in Houston is worth almost twice as much as A.H. Belo - the debt free owner of the Dallas Morning News and 3 other papers.
The market values a chain of strip clubs to be worth twice as much as the Dallas Morning News...
