This blog is mainly about the spectacular train wreck at The Sacramento Bee and its parent company, the McClatchy Company. But I also post about current events, the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, politics, anything else that grabs my attention. Take a look around this blog, hope you enjoy it.

Sunday March 15 -- Got news or an update?
If you have news or an update, leave it in comments. . . .
No, that problem disappeared the first night after my two weeks notice. Ever since, waking up in the morning is an exciting, new adventure. Almost like the feeling you get the first day of vacation.
Life is good again. I don't have to listen to all the snarkey back stabbers and psudo intellectual elitists who couldn't find the toilet without a map. In fact, I'd almost welcome a bit of insomnia because there doesn't seem to be enough hours to enjoy the day anymore.
Have a question I thought someone on here may know considering the circumstances the last year or so.....if McClatchy gives me a 4-wk severance package, can I collect unemployment after that if I don't find another job right away? Please advise, thanks!
In Missouri and Kansas, it will depend on the severence contract. More than likely The KC Star will allow for benefits to be paid. Once you sign up for benefits, the online process will let you know how to calculate your weekly pay and when it will begin. The most important thing to do is FILE FOR BENEFITS THE DAY YOU ARE LET GO. That's true for everyone. Even if you're not sure about qualifying, FILE ANYWAY.
Pull up older posts on McClatchy Watch for Friday March 6th.....some really good suggestions and things to think about for those about to get laid off from those who have been there.
Important stuff you might not think of when your mind is spinning!
But be damn sure you check your pockets on the way out the door. Just as sure as you don't, Jason Whitlock will be ferrying your wallet to Zieman who will be throwing it down to Rhonda in the three wheeled getaway car. Back at the crib, when they're counting the loot, Zieman pays Jason in cheesburgers and Rhonda gets White Whine.
Anybody want hear about power-mad Pruitt and his slimy propositions to two young reporters at a conference a few years back. They both told me about that experience when I was getting laid off last June. Does anyone remember when the name McClatchy was respected? There seems to be a direct correlation between that and Pruitt's leadership. Well, I'm sure you all have these wonderful stories of Pruitt's crooked smile. What is the McClatchy board's thinking in keeping this fake leader? Please, McClatchy, regain some dignity and can this putz.

Unemployment Insurance is different from State to State. There is no one correct answer.

LOL ... Lord knows I don't want to pay for a tire .... at least McDoubles are only $1
I don't think you have to worry. Word is, the TV section windfall is going directly to Goodyear....and Boone's Farm. ;-)
8:43 -- I'm cracking up at the three wheeled getaway car.
